yeah you're right I haven't seen any troughs in new buildings, but they're still really common in older football clubs &sports facilities, and older train stations, lots more in UK and europe too, maybe just cuz they don't update as often as we do in the states.

I think the only reason they're not building new troughs must be driven by privacy concerns. because it has to be a lot cheaper to do a trough that 6 guys could use, with just one water pipe and one drain, than to have 6 individual water supplies and drains and flush valves, for 6 individual urinals. seems wasteful, would be better to raise boys that aren't so pee shy.....peeing can be fun, and a shared common experience!

yeah so glad i grew up in the environment i did. i have 4 brothers and we always lived in small houses usually with one bathroom, and my dad is military so there was no nonsense about being shy, when you had to go, you found a place and pissed, inside outside, public or whatever. plain as that. it's silly to be embarassed about something everybody does every day.

See, I don't care who sees my dick- won't go to special efforts to hide anything in a locker room in environment, and dislike how prudish my generation is about male nudity. But for whatever reason, I sometimes have a hard time peeing in urinals with dividers if anyone else is around, let alone more trough-style ones. I think I've gotten a little less pee-shy over the last year or so by making myself use more public bathrooms, but no clue why it's a thing to begin with *shrug*
