I understand self-image dilemmas, and I feel sympathetic that you were a victim of abuse, but your reaction to people who do not give you a '10' is ridiculous. A better (and more mature) response would be to simply remove the pictures rather than blame LPSG or complain to people who had nothing to do with the situation. If it's really an issue, talk to the people who are giving you bad reviews or maybe just share pictures with the men who have stated their pleasure with your pictures by sending them via email or messenger service.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 8 is still well above average. Average would be between 5 and 6. Besides, there are important things that cannot be photographed. Someone may rate a 10++ on something that cannot be photographed and be only average in a photograph.

I'd much prefer to be with a nice, warm, friendly affectionate guy who rates a 7 in a photograph than be with a cold selfish guy whose photograph rates a 10.

I think we all go through this issue at some point. I'm hesitant to put up many pictures for that reason. But like someone before said Albums don't have ratings. I think only Galleries do. Albums still leave an option for comments just not ratings.

First lemme say, I hope to hell I look half as good as you do at 69, secondly, you have to remember everyone is different. If everyone liked the same things in life we'd all be a very very boring bunch. That said, I agree with you about the low ratings. If I see something I don't like, I just don't comment or rate it. It's not their fault I don't like what I see and I don't expect them to change anything just for me, that would be silly and bitchy. What they have is what they are given. It's not my place to judge that. If I like it, great! If I don't, well there are plenty of people who will like what I don't.

Don't sweat the small stuff, you're very classy and you deserve better than that. Don't waste your time with worrying so much about what others think of you. It's what you think of yourself that really matters at this point. The more you lift yourself up, the more people will take notice for the amazing qualities you possess.

Saying all that, don't leave LPSG because someone gave you a 1. If you get enjoyment out of this site with out ratings then continue to enjoy it for yourself and not for others.

I did leave one site because of continual insults, but it was a very different situation.

It was a site for sports bike (motorcycle) riders. Someone on it found my actual name, googled it, and discovered that I am gay. Insults and accusations followed; I was even accused of being a child molester. I left.

I think that what upset me more than the insults and false accusations was that not even one person came to my defense.

A number of times, on various web sites, I have defended others whom I thought were unfairly attacked. I have also done so in person. I spoke out in favor of civil rights for blacks before doing so was socially acceptable. So, I think that it is understandable that I was hurt when no one spoke up for me.

I AM PISSED OFF and had to vent somewhere and I can't find a real venue for this type of post, but do you guys (and gals) get angry when you have a poor rating on one of your pics?

I got a rating of "1" on one of my pics :banghead: - please do realize that's the *lowest* rating it's possible to give, by a relative newbie, no less. But it had to be intentional - you don't press that "1" button by mistake.

I believe everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but really, folks, if you don't like what you see, please don't feel compelled to give a very bad rating and make that person feel badly.

If I see a photo I don't like, I just don't rate it. I've seen some downright ugly penises here and I love beautiful cocks, but I never rate the ones I don't like. I wouldn't do that to anyone (except jerks who do it to me), and don't understand what's accomplished by such hatefulness. :grumpy:

ANYWAY, I needed to vent, and to warn all you guys (and there are a lot getting off to my pics - they write and tell me so) who like and jack off to my pics, if I get more bad ratings, I *will* take down my gallery, delete my albums, and leave LPSG - again.

Sorry, maybe it was an overreaction, but it seemed odd, somehow, to rate it an 8 after calling it "perfect" - they don't mesh, know what I mean? Odd enough to think maybe it was a left-handed compliment. Have been torn down a lot lately by *the guy* so I'm *raw", nerves exposed, etc. It just hit me wrong - sorry. (So I had a bad day. lol.)

And, Fre, am so sorry about the hassle and lack of support about the gay thing and being falsely accused - I've also done that every day for 10 years, I was accused, falsely, of adultery when there was no way even to do, it nor any inclination - was completely faithful - very draining, so I understand. Physical AND emotional abuse can wear one down and damage self-esteem.

I believe you can delete ratings you don't like - this option was enabled, IIRC, to remedy situations where people gave out low ratings based on a user's posts, as opposed to that user's pics.

I seldom view galleries, but when I do, I operate on the principle of "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all".

Thank you Petite and Female for the support. I have long since recovered, but it was very upsetting a the time; I have trust issues anyway and that certainly did not help.

I guess that because of the constant bullying I experienced all through high school I am more aware of how others feel when attacked and quick to defend them. Unfortunately, not everyone reacts that way, i.e., those who are bullied are likely to become bullies themselves when it becomes possible.

It's always the noobs that give a "1" or low rating on pics (nearly always non-gold members too). I think I've gotten a couple somewhere in the past, but I wouldn't sweat them too much. Those people are just haters! :tongue:
