Sick of unfair ratings!

I do not think people should be allowed to rate pics or comment on them unless they have pics themselves. Even gold members... If no pics up then they lose that right to rate pics. It's only fair, especially on this kind of site.

Well to be fair, if you put your photo up on a website knowing it will be rated you kind of have to take the good with the bad. That being said if someone rated me a 1 I'm sure my feelings might get hurt so I can certainly understand why it would bother you. But then again being unhappy with an 8 rating..Im not sure thats really grounds to be too upset, thats way above average? I dont know, I dont think Ive ever gone back and looked at what numbers people post on my pictures. If people only rave about how awesome looking you are then you tend to conclude that its kind of "lip service" I mean I cant be nearly as hot as people say I am, I certainly don't think so. I think if you put up your pics you open yourself up to scrutiny, thats unfortunately part of it. I do think it's really unfair though to rate someone a 1 because they dont like what you say on the forums or for any malicious reason. Its kind of a mixed bag, ya know? You cant please everyone so you just have to be happy that you please some people, and not worry too much about the rest. Sorry that one guy made you feel bad though.

OK, you know that mindset is just stupid right? You are primarily talking to the very same "guys" that "like to jack off to [your] pics" right? The people, especially n00bs, that just logged in don't read shit like this, they are just looking at pics and ignoring more serious posting on this forum. I do know the feeling though. I got pissed at people at XTube a couple of years ago and deleted all my pics and videos. However, I didn't tell anybody, because like I said, you're yelling mostly at the people that already like your pics. Also, they aren't able to change the ratings given by said "n00bs" can they?

Getting to the topic at hand, you don't rate people down, good for you, neither do I. But that doesn't reflect the opinions of all the other people on the site, and lets be honest, most people are shallow fucks. Agreed?

TicTac, Xtube is a harsh harsh place when it comes to criticism. We ladies are a rare and small breed around lpsg, but on Xtube, omg, there are perfect women there according to most men and they will tear you up if they don't like the least little thing about your pictures or vids. I've yanked mine atleast once there.

When a stranger lowballs a picture, I feel one should chalk it up to error or unfamiliarity with the rating system. When a friend lowballs a picture, then I think one might have cause to question the picture and consider taking it down.

All of your pictures are beautifully photographed and arranged....you should give no thought to removing them because of such a slight!

Your true supporters will stick by you and give you the support that matters most!

I AM PISSED OFF and had to vent somewhere and I can't find a real venue for this type of post, but do you guys (and gals) get angry when you have a poor rating on one of your pics?

I got a rating of "1" on one of my pics :banghead: - please do realize that's the *lowest* rating it's possible to give, by a relative newbie, no less. But it had to be intentional - you don't press that "1" button by mistake.

I believe everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but really, folks, if you don't like what you see, please don't feel compelled to give a very bad rating and make that person feel badly.

If I see a photo I don't like, I just don't rate it. I've seen some downright ugly penises here and I love beautiful cocks, but I never rate the ones I don't like. I wouldn't do that to anyone (except jerks who do it to me), and don't understand what's accomplished by such hatefulness. :grumpy:

Internet is plenty of people who are frustrated and to get rid of their frustrations they LOVE to humiliate and offend other people...I suppose that some people give ANYBODY bad ratings just because they enjoy making other people feel bad, so that they at least get the "satisfaction" to see other people suffer like themselves

The majority of people browsing through galleries aren't posting members, they're people looking for anonymous stimulation and since there is a rating system shown directly beneath the pics they'll use it to rate the pic based on their own personal criteria, not to boost the pic owner's self esteem.

Anyone expecting universal adulation needs a reality check, IMO.

As for the "1" ratings being claimed "Oh, I meant that as in first place", bollocks. The ratings show up as a scale of 1 - 10 but they're scored on a scale of "poor" to "excellent". There really isn't much room for confusion.

This discussion made me think about ratings and galleries versus albums, but also about self-esteem and exhibitionism. The result was that I removed the last five pics from my gallery even though they got 10 ratings, because they're more suitable for albums. I rate pictures, not people, and almost invariably our best pics were taken by my partner with a camera and none of my webcam stuff comes close. So I pulled them all from the gallery and will put them in the album.

No matter how much appreciation and encouragement we might find here from posting pics, there are also feelings of inadequacy, fear of rejection etc. that are pretty close to the surface. LPSG is multi-faceted and some parts of it are a lot more supportive than others. We just have to give and receive support where we can and ignore the non-supportive aspects of the site IMO.

Also, last night I had someone post about my Mary-Jane's photo I have in my album. Their response was "Every woman on this site owns a pair of these." Which at first, I was kind of like taken aback. I politely replied in my album comments to him though. It still irked me a bit about his comment, maybe he was trying to be nice? Maybe not? I'm not sure but I was still thinking about it an hour later. So I visited his gallery and his albums, watched his videos and then posted jokingly about "Every male on this site has a penis" or something retarded. I'm not really hurt by it, just confused as to why he felt the need to say that I'm not original. Which by the way wasn't my intent when I posted the picture. So, to get his goat this morning I posted a picture of me in my fancy roller skates in the same fashion I posted my Mary-Jane's. I bet you anything that almost every woman on this website doesn't own a pair of those! :tongue:
