Why? is it strange for you? it's just like any other allergy, except you can't take claritan for it... you apply steroid cream.

mephistopheles, it's best not to stick it in your mouth then... but no the ions from the metal could be reacting to something in your bones, it's logical.

I have the usual seasonal allergies, but I used to be seliac,
and later was allergic to Dairy products.
The doctors tell me I'm allergic to Wasps and hornet stings,
but I've never been stung so I don't really know. Don't think
I want to find out either.

Allergies always require more than one exposure. Unless you had some bizarre exposure in utero, you cannot be allergic to a substance the first time you come in contact with it.

Rob_just_rob, lactose intolerance and dairy allergy are very different. Lactose intolerance is due to an enzyme deficiency. The body cannot break down lactose (a type of sugar), and it ferments in the gut, giving the really horrible symptoms. Lactose intolerance can be treated effectively and completely by taking a lactase supplement. An allergy is caused by the immune system incorrectly identifying something as a threat and reacting to it. Allergic reactions can be either localized or systemic, and can be anything from just annoying to lethal. Desensitizing treatments can be effective for some, but not all, allergies. There is no cure, but sometimes they appear or disappear on their own, for no explainable reason.
