Silent Hill or Gilbert Grape?

Right - I have two movies I've not seen before that I downloaded a while back - I'm going to watch one.

Silent Hill or What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Not exactly the same ganre - I don't actually give a fuck which I watch - and, quite honestly, I don't even really give much of a fuck what you all think of these movies - but I am a poor decision maker* and I will go with the majority vote over the next half hour.

What say the good folk of LPSG?

* that is to say I am bad at making decisions - not that I make bad decisions - I am infalible generally - when I can be arsed.

I'd say Silent Hill. That was a very scary game with an interesting story. However, not many games translate well into films.

Gilbert Grape sounds old so I'd say Silent Hill.

I'm a big fan of the games - played 1 and 2 all the way through - got half way into 3 and left it for some reason - must pick it up again..

Silent Hill, maybe, for comedic value. I was hysterically laughing through it when I saw it the first (wait, the only) time. If you watch it, be sure to look out for the extreme gore scene near the end with the -

MB, I've not seen Silent Hill, so I can't comment on that.

But Gilbert Grape I have seen. It's got its funny moments, and Johnny and Leo give incredible performances, but it is overall a very sad, frustrating, depressing movie.

Silent Hill. The part that I found HILLARIOUS, after having played the 1st and 2nd games, was the Zombie Nurses. If you look really close, you will notice all of them zombie walking except the slutty one in the front. LOL.

Funny you should say that - I did that about a month ago... It was a bit depressing actually - you can tell you're getting on a bit when you find yourself attracted to Arnie in mud :sad:

I was a huge fan of the second game, and the movie did pretty much blow, unfortunately.

The only redeeming qualities were that the town change when it turned evil was cool, and the music was the same creepy stuff as from the game. The story, where the games are awesomely scary, was terrible.
