How can you not know how to make meatballs? Just roll the ground beef into a ball. :duh:

Yeah, but I wasn't sure how to cook them... I want them to be COOKED inside... (sorry, but food poisoning doesn't appeal to me).

OMG NJ, there is so much more to it than that!!

True, everyone loves my meat balls; but not everyone makes them like I do.

I forgot not everybody can cook instinctively like I do.

My Meatballs
  1. 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix
  2. 1/3 cup water
  3. 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 TBSP fresh basil - chopped
  6. 1 TBSP fresh parsley - chopped
  7. 1 lb. ground beef or turkey*
Thoroughly mix ingredients one through six in a 2 cup measuring cup. Use a dinner fork for this.

In a mixing bowl, place ground meat and pour contents of measuring cup into meat. Mix thoroughly with a large serving fork or use your hands.

Place bowl in fridge to chill for 20 minutes. This helps the meat to not stick to your hands so much.

After 20 minutes, remove bowl and take a small amount of meat and roll into a ball.

Place meat balls into a large frying pan. Frying pan should have 4 tablespoons olive oil, which has been pre-heated.

When meatball is browned on the outside it should be done on the inside. Place browned meatballs in sauce or add sauce to the meatballs.

Or you can place them on a greased cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 400F for 30-40 minutes.

To make ground beef for chili or tacos I replace the basil with cilantro.

* I prefer Laura's Lean Beef if available. If not available I use 93% lean ground beef.

You can always cut one in half and see if it is still pink. If it's still pink cook it some more.

Do you know to add a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of nutmeg to your tomato sauce to cut the acidity?

Sorry dollface. :frown1: I am always confuzzled by people who don't find cooking as easy as I do.

LOL! I know what you mean.

Hey, Mandee...try baking your meatballs rather than frying them. I've been doing that for a long time and you end up with a lower-fat option and get them cooked all the way through.

 you're on it!
Wow this buddy list thing is fun!

(Someone else is on my ignore list...)

You're on mine, as well.

Who is on your ignore list? :p I wanna know.

I have two people on my ignore list, but whenever I see that they posted I have to read it, because I want to know what it is that they said (usually something absolutely stupid that makes them look like an ass). I wish that when we put people on ignore nothing of theirs would show up at all. I mean, I know that it doesn't show what they said in their post, but it still shows that they posted, and you can look at it if you want. What is the point in that?!!?
