learningirl: Wow - well, leahcat seems to have covered a LOT, but here's from my personal experience:
Size might contribute to the UTI / yeast problem, but smaller penises or basically anything can cause at least the UTI troubles. Like so many questions I'm seeing on this site, this comes back to the fact that a woman's bladder, G-Spot, urethera -- are all in the same basic area; at least an area that's getting a lot of action during sex.
I agree w/the microscopic tears comments and I think (leahcat's?) BUT I think it's also possibly even simpler: rigorous activity around the urinary tract can and will irritate it, which leads to the UTIs.
FURTHER EVIDENCE to support the link btwn/ women's urinary functions and sex? I am willing to bet that any physician will tell you that ideally women will urinate within 10-15 minutes after intercourse (pain in the ass!
because that will get rid of / flush out anything unpleasant that might be starting to take hold.
I do speak from experience. When I first lost my virginity and was sexually active, I was even prescribed meds to be taken after "coitus." yes, it said this ON THE BOTTLE and oh god, was I embarassed. Hhahaha!
And I think the yeast infection points are probly correct -- other points I'd mention are:
a) she could be sensitive or allergic to the type of condom / birth control / lube you might be using;
B) yes, new bacteria, very sensitive region for women, and my friend, if you're doing your job right, she's probably experiencing a lot more moisture down there than normal. At least, I hope so. But that's exactly what causes yeast infections.
c) she's gotta drink a lot of cranberry juice (real stuff, not 80% sugar); eat yogurt (yes, it really does help to prevent yeast infections.)
So your SIZE is possibly not to blame; rough sex in any form would cause this with some people. (Of course, you might not be having sex that's at all ROUGH, and that's the problem, right? You don't even need to try.) ON the other hand, if you're having really fast, slammin' sex, maybe consider, say, trying less of the in&out action as briskly, and perhaps more grinding/moving once inside... that would irritate it less, I believe.
I can't believe how much typing I"m doing here! Sorry folks.
