Considering that a woman is capable of having a baby, I'd think that the vagina could expand to accommodate any girth that is not totally outrageous. However, I know that I am not qualified to have an opinion on it.

While this is true in the most general sense, it gets tossed around glibly with little understanding of why.

When a woman is pregnant, particularly as she approaches labor, her body is producing massive amounts of the hormone relaxin, which does almost exactly what it sounds like. This hormone inhibits collagen synthesis and promotes its breakdown, among other functions. Collagen is a primary structural component of ligaments and myofascial tissue...its breakdown means that the bonds holding bones together become softer and more flexible (allowing the pelvic girdle to widen) and the sheath surrounding both smooth and skeletal muscle softens, allowing the muscles to stretch beyond their normal tolerances...this permits the uterus to stretch from the size of her fist to accommodate a full-term infant, and allows her pelvic musculature to allow the infant to pass through her birth canal.

Postpartum, the hormone level drops to normal and her body will replace the lost collagen, returning her connective tissues to their former rigidity...essentially tightening everything back up.

Long story short, a pregnant woman's vagina is a whole hell of a lot stretchier than that of a woman who isn't pregnant.

A standard paper roll (TP or Kitchen) has an outside circumference of 5.5" (inside circumference being somewhat less). When I look through the hole I'm kinda impressed with the size of it. You'd think an erection that size would happily enough plug any hole in a dutch dyke (un-pc saying I haven't had much of a chance to use lately, sorry to some).

I'd also think the quality of the erection must matter. A real hard erection must feel better than a softer one. What happens to a soft erection? Does it roll over on itself like a tape measure when longer than the bottom depth? Does that feel good to a woman? Can it even be felt by a woman? Does a real hard, longer than bottom, erection inhibit rapid, deep thrusting rhythms?

I have answers from my own experiences with these questions just wonder what others have on them.

I am nulliparous and definitely have limits. But, I agree with HG. From friend reports, I have heard during pregnancy that the vagina is very moist (lots of thicker discharge), tented, and elastic. One friend that previously had an issue accommodating her husband was able to fully accept his length and girth during pregnancy, and really enjoy it. Personally, even when I am totally prepared, with a big guy there can be pain, even bleeding, during or after sex.

Go hard or go home is definitely my motto! :biggrin1:

 I am not sure what one could do with a soft penis? Sometimes a like to throat a big one from the soft state, but I can't imagine intercourse with a flaccid penis. What's the point??

I'm not talking about a flaccid penis. I'm talking about an engorged penis that does not get very hard but is hard enough to be inserted. You see a lot of large penises in porn that fit in this category. They are bendy to a pretty good degree. Smaller penises seem to be much stiffer. That is not to say there aren't very large, very hard penises out there.

Other than "whiskey dick", which never leads to sex, I have never experienced a soft penis. Nor would I want to, but have, as well, watched porn with that going on.

My primary requirement for a partner is that his penis is stiff and it feels rigid while in me. In my view, a guy is never too hard until that moment when our timing falls off. :09:

So ranking the penis in terms of importance for me:
1. Rigidity/Tumescence
2. Staying power/Skills
2. Girth
3. Length
4. Aesthetics

Some women suffer from a condition called Cephalopelvic Disproportion, which basically means that the baby won't fit down the vaginal canal. Before modern C-sections, women with this condition died during labor. Yuck!

While this is true in the most general sense, it gets tossed around glibly with little understanding of why.

When a woman is pregnant, particularly as she approaches labor, her body is producing massive amounts of the hormone relaxin, which does almost exactly what it sounds like. Very true - small factual correction on the hormone relaxin. I'm not trying to nitpick, just trying to drive home the point that preparation for labor takes at least 28 weeks from the time Relaxin peaks.

According the what I just recently read, a woman actually begins creating relaxin from the moment she gets pregnant and her levels continuously increase until Week 14, where it remains at the peak level until birth at Week 40-42 (more than 9 months!) Her ligaments, veins, and skin all begin stretching long before birth. For this reason, women who continue working out while pregnant are warned that certain exercises are dangerous for our knees because the ligaments are looser, and pregnant women must be careful when stretching, because we become very flexible. Pregnant women's vaginas are also become stretchier and can take a larger penis, which we're both looking forward to.

Doesn't explain fisting, huge egg plants, .... or huge dildo videos. You see ridiculous girth being taken but really only 6-7 inches in depth. I think rightly most women avoid this kind of extreme experience (for health reasons mainly) and that it is a practice that reflects a woman's temperament. I remember learning some weeks ago that some women can actually have an orgasm during child birth given the right environment. BTW (by the way:wink:), I'm not talking in absolutes just generalities.

My personal experience so far is that his fist doesn't fit. We've begun practicing fisting in preparation for labor, and even with Relaxin in my body, I'm still at the three finger stage, which isn't comfortable and definitely isn't pleasurable.

Different women are different sizes, and some of those women may have spent years with large objects stretching themselves out. I'm just speculating. I have no idea how they got so big.

I'm a skeptic about the orgasm during labor stories. Sounds like stories from delusional women to me, which is likely during labor. It's a delusion producing experience. When a man tells me that he orgasmed while passing kidney stones, then I'll believe the orgasm during labor stories. Some men orgasm from getting kicked in the balls and some women are masochistic, so maybe it's like that. I have no evidence, I just doubt it.

1)Youtube vid with orgasm from delivery.

2)Congrats on your pregnancy.

3)These women stretch out and yet start from a normal size vaginal opening. There are even videos of anal sphincters stretched rather widely. I'm sure it is practiced/acquired didn't say it wasn't.

This is just morbid curiosity/sociological study for me and not really interested in participating. :0)

Masochists. I've seen a video where a guy gets kicked in the balls by attractive women until he orgasms. He smiles the entire time. It's not for everyone.

I'll let you know if I think it's pleasurable but I can't orgasm if he thrusts too deep because of the pain, so I doubt that I'll be able to orgasm with labor pains and my vagina getting stretched to the tearing point.

Like I said, different women have different sized vaginas just like men have different sized penises. See the "How Deep is Your Pussy" thread for a very long discussion about it.

In the end, to my logic it seems most women must have a larger girth capacity, even when not on relaxin, than depth capacity. And that though women prefer girth its unlikely anything but a freakishly thick penis will test their limit.

And of course there are differences in vaginas and their capacity. I'm simply talking in generalities.

I've never had preferences, but I do have limits. And I do reach them every so often. And he knows it and he knows when to be careful. Ten days on the road he comes home - be careful. In the hot tub with a few glasses of wine - not so much. The little purple pill? He better be on his best behavior!!!

Seriously, I've never had anyone that I would consider small, and I would never, ever say "you're smaller than my last lover - that's nice." But I can comment that "you're larger than I'm used to." Fortunately, I don't have to use either line any more. I have no idea what his girth is, but a few months ago we read about the dollar bill test, yeah, you can only stretch a dollar so far.

Girth is good, but then there's too much, too. As for having a baby, right, I want to go through that again every time I make love. Come on! You can't be serious!

Interesting thread. It would be good to see a few more female responses, but those so far tend to confirm what I have long believed which is that many (perhaps most) women consider the ideal penis size to be something a bit above average (say 6.5" x 5.5") but not massively so. And that seems to hold true even for those visiting a "large penis" site.
