alright so the vast majority wants numbers used
bout equally divided between just once or regularly so I'll try to mix it up in my stories to make everybody happy

I use it from time to time
when size is a major contributing factor to a story you get tired of typing cock or dick over and over again

If you're specific it stops the reader entering into the story as much, for instance if someone was reading it and it mentioned his huge cock then you said it was 9 inches and their partner was 10 they wouldn't be able to sink into the story as much, leave it with adjectives and they can put themselves in the position of the characters.

I agree that some authors seem to have a strange captivation with length and rarely mention circumference. Using both would improve the enjoyment of the stories.

I do mention numbers. I didn't used to, but there was enough demand from fans of my work to be specific. Obviously, my stories are pretty wierd, so I don't know that I'd recomend it for people trying to make genuinely erotic prose, as opposed to the shovel-it-on pornography I seem to have fallen into.

That being said, I try to make width comparisons metaphoric, and length comparisons exact; that allows my readers to better suspend disbelief as to exactly how anyone would take on the rediculous members I mention, while still enjoying some specificity about who the biggest man of the bunch may be.

that's pretty much how I do it to
length as a number and width as a comparision
I'm pretty big so shovel-it-in (oh did you say on..sorry) works for me
havn't chatted with you in awhile btw

Thanks for doing this poll - it's always good to find out what people want from the fictitious section. I appear to be in the minority as I prefer non-specific references to size. I'm much happier with approximate dimensions that my imagination can run with, and so that's how I write. Although never say never! 8)
