This is because in the mid-to-late 1900s China and India had vast rural, uneducated population who weren't even aware of contraception. Do note that these are remote villages based around farming which didn't even have electricity till a few decades ago. (some still dont) So they would end up reproducing every time they had sex. Of course now it is different, the rural population has much readier access to education and contraception. I don't know about China but India's major religion Hinduism does not prohibit contraception. That's 1 billion people, or 1/6th of the world right there.

I don't think size guarantees more orgasms for anyone.
If size is too big some girls may not want it inside them very long.
