I don't often look at pics here anymore, but when I do it's usually one of the ladies. (Sorry fellas, not trying to say you're uninteresting, it's just the way it is lately)

I've noticed quite a few compliments on some of these lovely ladies' skin and how clear/smooth it is.

Is it a legitimate turn off to see unclear skin, or skin that's not evenly toned?

I'm just curious about the men who post here, I'm not trying to decipher whether or not men in general think one way or the other.

I have a very noticeable case of psoriasis. I used to get very self conscious about it, still do sometimes. My fella told me I just look like I have my own natural animal print.. I'm a pink leopard *growls provocatively*

Pink leopard? Sounds hot.

Can’t say I have much experience here

My FWB has a very large birthmark on her right hip. Probably 6 inches across

She was very self conscious about it

I kissed it before we made love for the first time. She loved that.

Hey TNJ, few things in life are perfect, that goes for things as well as men and women.
Often it is our imperfections that worry us the most; but others find attractive and enderraing
Some people cover Psoriasis and Vitiligo areas on their faces with make up, some people just go out and say hey this is who I am.

There are not many men I know who would not love to have a pink leopard in their lives ( me included )
Personally I am a sucker for facial and body freckles,

You just keep on being Growling and being your Awesome self

in this day and age of filters and photoshop, i've stopped complimenting pictures altogether. what i do is take a closer look to see if a filter has been applied or the photo has been altered before even considering any comment. if it even looks remotely altered or filtered... i move on...

i'm amazed at how many people out there would do this to themselves and get off on a fake reality of themselves? i've always said that if you don't ever plan to meet in person then go ahead and filter away or photoshop away all your pictures because you will never live up to those pictures. if you decide to meet, that other person is expecting the person in the pictures and not you... why would you do this to yourself?

to answer the OP: it's biological... as in clear skin means she's healthier and a more suitable mate. it's built into our nature as guys to go for what's more "pretty"; the same as what is built into women to chase after a man who can provide and/or is successful as that reflects a better mate. is it an end-all-to-be-all?... hell no, it's just what we see. always keep in mind that the guys are complimenting the PICTURE and not the PERSON.

here's an example i just dug up:

I don't cover it up, I just drown myself in lotion for the sake of trying to stay comfortable, and I let my natural skin be seen. Booty shorts and all, spotted all over.

Hell, you know it. You can see my pics ;)

I can safely say all my fellow males; and I care 99.9% more about is the Booty inside the shorts. Heck with the spots,

Uh, I just kinda wanted to know if it was a turn off lol.

Photoshop and social media aren't at all part of my question :no_mouth:

I literally just was wondering if unclear skin turns you off.

Skin conditions are one of those things that none of us have any control over, so it's not something I would compliment somebody on.

If someone is blessed with good skin, then good for them...but it's something I don't generally consider when observing a naked person. I mean, what I consider attractive about a person has nothing to do with the condition of their overall covering. Acne, psoriasis, or whatever, doesn't matter.

That said, I've never really liked the look of sharply contrasting tan lines.

you stated in your original post: I've noticed quite a few compliments on some of these lovely ladies' skin and how clear/smooth it is.

i was trying to explain that perhaps their skin isn't really clear/smooth at all... it may simply be not real. plus, i did answer your question too. :)

Clear skin is always nice. But some things like heaven acne can be unappealing. But if I find her attractive already that will not change the opinion of her in my eyes. I know a few guys that do not like it at all

"Unclear skin" isn't a turn-off by itself, unless it seems like its condition is because someone is unhealthy in general.

Psoriasis or vitiligo? Not deal breakers in and of themselves. Sores and blisters? No thank you. Scars and such? Possibly an interesting story, one that may affect relationships and reactions.

If I'm interested in you as a person, then the packaging tells a story I'm interested in hearing.

As for the compliments about clear skin? I wonder whether those guys want to be complimentary but not come off as shallow, "you're so hot blah blah".

I must admit that as a former pizzaface youth, I noticed ladies whose skin was clear because it was an ideal I had not attained. I battled acne until my early 30s.

Attractiveness can actually classified and what people find attractive in studies generally is composed of 3 things, perfect symmetry, vivid color, and lack of blemishes.

People who have blemished skin will be seen as less desirable at first, every single time. I guess if the skin changes add unique coloring, that might be seen as attractive, but people with acne scarring, port wine staining, eczema, blotching are always seen as less attractive, initially.

It makes sense. Sex is instinctively based on reproduction, and animals want to reproduce with the more physically perfect partner they can find.

I think you're going to come across subjective opinions on skin coloration/tone when it comes to men being attracted. The best way I could describe it in my case is, does said discoloration/uneven tone imply sickness, or just an anomaly? Vitilago would be a non issue, but depending on how psoriasis expresses itself in a particular person, it could be negligible, attractive, or a turnoff.
I honestly think texture is the universal qualifier; I dont think men would mind plaid or polka dot skin as long as it's relatively smooth.

That's the thing I get self conscious about, the pink spots don't look unattractive to me anymore, but during a bad flare up I'm like a crocodile :(

Practically bathing in Aveeno lotion helps.

Not only does it feel less than sexy, it's very uncomfortable. My fella is kind enough to keep touching me anyway but I'm sure it's not as pleasurable as it could be if I had smooth skin. Oh well

Lucky for me my guy didn't choose me based on this instinct. I'm actually not the best option for reproduction, being that I can't anyway.

So glad I found him
