Doesn't surprise me since that is one body part that was never intended to get sun.
While I have never heard about the cancer likelihood, I have heard circumcised nudists say that it burns more easily than anything else.
I also have not heard of cancer of the head of the penis, the head does burn more easily than the other body parts. It was part of my prep for a day in the in to give my penis head a good layer of a high BPF sun screen as did many of my nudist friends.

It will burn very easily, as Uncutsouthernboy said, it wasn't meant to be in the sun. I found this out when using a tanning bed of an uncut friend. I complained of my dick head being sunburned slightly. He laughed and said "you must be circumcised". He already knew that since we had hung out together naked before.

Oh yeah, dick and balls get heavily coated with high SPF sunscreen if I'm going to be outside for any length of time...

I put the wrong group of letters in my post it should have been SPF not BPF. I did not see the error until I saw @Anton565's quote, how ever he understood what I was trying to say and liked my post and quoted it with a nice added comment about his prep for outside.

My GF and I have a couple of trips planned to the lake this summer, mostly with another couple, but occasionally with a group of couples. I want to go skinny dipping so bad. I think I can coax my GF into it and the girl from the other couple we'll be up there a few times with isn't afraid to be in her bra and underwear in front of me. Still, I'm nervous about trying to convince them to drop everything (including their inhibitions) and get in the water without seeming like a total perv. As for the larger group, it may just happen spontaneously.

If anyone has any words of encouragement to encourage skinny dipping, I'm all ears.

I've never been skinny dipping. I'm not a huge swimmer (nearly drowned as a child) so I typically just go a few times a year and it's always at some clubhouse pool at some condo or apartment complex. I think it puts me in the minority as once we discussed this with our friend group and people were shocked.

If the two of you normalize it completely and just do it the first time (apologize later lol) it would seem natural to you and no shock or big deal. The more you talk it up it becomes a *thing*. To me it sounds like it's a mixed gender issue. If the guys have their swim time and then the girls go later, then you have "broken the ice" (pun intended) and then you can join forces for the second swim.

I think that's my plan. If my GF and I did it first--ideally some weekend we're at the lake by ourselves--we can say we've done it and have a talking point. "Oh, we went skinny dipping last time we were here." "Wow! That sounds awesome! We want to try it!"

For clarity, I don't think it's a mixed gender issue. My GF is open to skinny dipping with me, but I don't think she's open to doing it with anyone else (yet). In the other couple, I would describe the girl as more open than the guy. If I were to power rank the four of us by likelihood to go skinny dipping it would be 1. Me 2. Other girl 3. My GF 4. Other guy. I don't think this is scenario where the guys and girls can go separate and then come together. I think one couple has to start and the other follows.

I'm overthinking this.

If you want to skinny dip then lead the way. Drop your shorts and walk into the water. You’ve just normalized it, especially if your gf follows behind you. The other couple will join or they won’t. Don’t make it a thing.
I’ve done this with groups of guys only with good results. Larger groups seemed more likely to follow suit, guessing peer pressure ruled.
Always offer your friends an easy out if they’re not comfortable.

I’ve never burned my pubic area or dick but to be honest have only burned one in 54 years of life.
I’m nude most of the time and I think in doing so, I gradually tan my body and bits. I don’t lay out too much these days but if we’re going on a Mediterranean cruise I spend some time to get a better base. That sun is intense and I come home very dark.
A couple years ago we went to Canne, France and met a guy who had 2-Deg sunburn on his lower legs. Fortunately an Rx isn’t required for most of what he needed. A trip to a pharmacy with us and he was good to go. Poor guy said it happened in just a couple hours.
One day we’d like to do nude sailing trips around the Greek islands we’ve seen. You can bet I’ll be intentional in my tanning for that one and still use sunscreen.

Have you seen this video of the first naked Ionian flotilla cruise organised by the British Naturism sailing group?

Thanks for the link and info @JohnGw.
We’ve been looking at a gay nude sailing company that used large catamarans and sail for a week at a reasonable rate.
My primary concern has been motion sickness. When we travel overseas I always use a scopolamine patch for flights, buses and cruises. I’m worried that this little boats might have more motion than the patch can overcome.
We’re nude a home and seek out vacation venues that allow us to be that way as much as possible.

The only useful thing I can say is always be sick over the lee rail.
