Leader of ‘large-scale’ sex-trafficking ring arrested in Fort Worth; 15 women rescued

Just an unpleasant reminder that this stuff is still happening day to day across the US while the national press is distracted by things like racket abuse point deductions.

One needn't travel to Libya to run into it, the buying, selling, and using of human beings may have moved behind closed doors, but the human trafficking trade is alive and well.

Ft. Worth is a wonderful city. Heck, it's the corporate headquarters for our airline competitor just south of DFW airport. Human trafficking is a dirty, sleazy business that occurs across every region and municipality of our country.

Sex Businesses Right Here In River City

Nationwide human trafficking report calls Tampa a major hub for $2.5 billion massage parlor sex trade

It was merely a coincidence that WFLA channel 8 began their riveting investigation into message parlor sex during a ratings sweeps month. The Tampa NBC station sent investigative reporter Mark Douglas to various addresses along Kennedy Blvd. adorned with enticing names suggesting various forms of ancient oriental methods of relaxation. But to the astonishment of everyone he discovered that most of them were, in-fact, houses of ill-repute. Rather than enveloping customers in soothing sounds of music and lotus blossom facial messages, they were offering male customers a cornucopia of carnal delights! Talk about a bait-and-switch. Strangely none of the men complained or demanded their money back.

A property records search also revealed that an owner of one of the largest such message parlor businesses was none other than Rick Barcena, the chairmen of Tampa's Code Enforcement Board. Barcena maintains he never knew what his manager Me Love You Long Time was doing behind closed doors. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn had this to say about four-term city councilman Rick Barcena's moonlighting business: "Well golly, that doesn't seem right, does it?"

Prostitution has always been called the world's oldest profession.
