That's just it. We need a good term for these women who are to be admired even though they are the ones in control of their own pleasure and have a big capacity for pleasure, yet act with discretion and panache to fulfill it.

Once we coin this term, it will be much less easy for them to be mislabeled 'slut'.
I like the term Valkyrie.

You're just wrong, SLB, wrong and there's no talking to you because you so vehemently believe you are right.

"Maybe it can but the fact is that the majority of women turn into sluts only after the emotional shock/damage of a relationship breakup. Which is a response to a 'traumatic event' rather than something innate in them." Wrong - and there is no way you can know 'the majority of women's motivations. That is just something you want to believe therefore it is, to you, the irrefutable truth. I have no idea why I even bothered responding to your post because I knew it would come down to you and your incorrect 'truths'.

I am wrong? What do you base that on? I am talking about personal experience and common knowledge. I think every person knows at least one girl who turned slutty after a break up.

How many people know a slut who is happy being a slut? Or a slut who doesn't smoke 40 a day or doesn't drink heavily? Or who doesn't do drugs? These are all common themes among sluts.

It is not a question of wrong or right. It is a question of what is real and what is not. Maybe in your tiny feminist brain sluts are all happy and content. But like every thought you have, it is not real; it is irrelevant.

Don't tell me I am wrong just because you want me to be wrong. I don't see any other women contesting the evident truth that sluts are born from bad breakups.

Well that woman's not a slut a stud or anything. She just sounds miserable, picky & needy.

She's fat, forty & feeling that life is passing her by.

Why would someone who wants JUST sex even want to chat to find out the social mores of a prospective partner? It's hardly a guide to a good one night stand is it?

The phrase "mid life crisis" would be more applicable here. If she just wanted sex, she'd be better suited to just hanging around a bar & a club at the end of the night.

The difference between a stud & a slut is that any woman could have sex with any number of new random guys during a week. Many guys aren't that picky girls, & a lot of them are single!

A guy has to work infinitely harder. For a normal guy to get one a day he'd be approaching Godlike status, if they were all quality, he'd have a temple & a shrine built to worship him & learn his ways!

Also, suck on this:

Promiscuous Women Tend to be Unhappy | danielmiessler.com

Newspaper Article/More info on scientific study:

Study shows more sex for depressed women | Herald Sun

Quote from the newspaper article:

"We knew this anecdotally"

As in, everyone knows anecdotally that sluts are fundamentally unhappy people.

That is the funniest shit I've ever heard in my life. I don't know about Australian's per se, but here in Amurca (that's America in a good ol' country accent) Dr. Oz (Yes, I'm quoting Dr. Oz, he's a Damn Doctor and a better resource that that "study" you presented) tells us that it's healthy to have sex A MINIMUM of three three times a week. So does that mean all women in relationships having sex more than three times a week are unhappy sluts? That they aren't happy in their relationships? I don't see ANY medical information in that study backing it up. And until a reputable source, like John Hopkins or Harvard Medical puts out results like this, I will continue to listen to a medical doctor's opinion, both Dr. Oz, and my OB/GYN.

Oh, and I looked at danielmiessler.com and no where does he quote a study or back up his information. He has no medical degree or psychology degree that I can see. He's just a dude spouting opinions.

Kthnx. :biggrin1:

I am currently pursuing a woman who has had many, many more sexual encounters than I have. I have known her for about 10 years and she has shared many of her adventures with me. Some of those have been with men she has dated for a few months and some with men she has seen few times. I do not consider her a slut...I think of her as a very strong and powerful woman who knows what she wants and needs.

I can't wait to be added to her list...

Darlin',
Your best bet is to put this dyed in the wool misogynist on ignore and not even bother to honor his bullshit with a reply.

Everyone knows that with the ease of internet publishing it is now possible to find any number of "studies" to prove any theory you pull out of your arse.

Threads like this bring his fellow misogynists out of the woodwork so mark them well and let them become additions to your ignore list.

Slutty women are a huge turn off. Socially I dont have a problem with them but I just would share a straw.

Gecko.. What is your definition of a slutty woman?

My definition, is the type of girl that prowls day and night to find as many men she can possibly to sleep with (for whatever gain she may be trying to attain), and often throws herself at men who are either married or taken. I hate that!!!!!

Hmm... A Women who is promiscuous with little to no regard for the well being of others and with no agenda rather than her own sexual gratification at others expense

I suppose that is a pretty good definition for now. Might wanna expand on that a later.

Thanks Ms. Dragon. It made me angry and instead of "being the better man" so to speak I took the low road and lashed out. I just feel easily agitated today for some reason. This isn't the only topic that has gotten under my skin.

Wow, I am kinda shocked by the attitude of some of the guys, especially
Gecko4lif and Incocknito.

The way I read the article was that this Woman had managed to separate the difference between wanting a cuddle and affection, hell even a fuck, and a committed long term relationship. And not only that, but she realized that to stay healthy mentally most people, male or female need that kind of touch, that kind of interaction with people.

Even these days, people will often regard women that do this as "Sluts". And I think one of the things she's saying in the article is, what's wrong with being a slut?

Personally I love women that are able to do what she does, I have an immense amount of respect for women that can do this. It's different to just sleeping around though, but that's a persons choice to do that if they can, and I respect that choice too.

I'm not doing a great job at explaining what I mean, which is why I found that article so good, because she explained so well how I feel about it. I'm shocked that there is still such a horrendous double standard out there, it actually makes me pretty angry.

ManlyBanisters and LaFemme, you both rock.

People can do whatever they want but there is a difference. Men and women are not the same.

Besides the obvious fact that your sex organ hangs outside your body, and mine is inside my body, and that my body bears children and feeds them for a certain amount of time, what exactly are our gender roles? Am I supposed to be barefoot and pregnant? Is that my gender role? How else are men and women not the same? Can I not be as good a doctor or lawyer? I only have to work twice as hard and get paid less. Can I not run for president?

I'm simply dying for you to clarify.

Remember, these ideas above came out of your brain, not mine. I think that women are more sacred than men. I think women should be more selective, they definitely have the power to be. But in the end it's up to you.

That doesn't answer my question. I know what I am capable of as a woman, and how powerful I am. I also know we, women as a gender, still make $.75 to the $1.00 of a man's salary. Though the glass ceiling is cracked and has huge gaping holes in it in many places (thank you Hilary Clinton) there are still gender discrimination issues in many fields. And this does go both ways. Men are still looked at as gay for wanting to be in certain professions such as nursing.

But when it comes to sex, women ARE selective. Even women who have LOTS of sex. We still pick and choose who we decide to fuck and who take home or get taken home by. Otherwise we'd be saying yes to every horny fucker who hit on us in a bar, or the grocery store, or the bank, or best buy, or cat-called at us walking down the bloody street, or sent us a PM saying they'd like to fuck us with their 10 inch cock.
