Schools crack down on dance routines

By MEGAN MATTEUCCI

After a performance by a Jonesboro High School dance team, all dance, cheerleading and band members in the Clayton County public schools now will have to get their routines approved by an administrator.

The new policy, announced Thursday, came two weeks after the Jonesboro dancers were criticized for performing provocatively at a basketball game Jan. 13. The dance team has since been disbanded, and its coach has been removed.

Wasn't really risque at all--- mayyyyybe the end where they dance for the boys.

Reminded me a little of an urban Cabaret with the chair routine, except it was pretty bad.

I couldn't help but laugh at this comment left on the YouTube video:

yes, the team should be disbanded, but not because of the provocative nature of the choreography - simply because of this astonishingly bad routine! the choreography is juvenile, repetitive and completely...terrible. who coaches this team? are the girls required to take actual dance classes? if these were legitimate, well-trained dancers (regardless of skill level), technique and choreographic creativity would be entertaining enough - no need to resort to disturbing splits and lap dances.

Was there something sexy in that routine? It was mostly just bad dancing. If that was sex, then I shall remain celibate.

But...I guess I am old-fashioned. Pole dancing should be left in the strip club.
