Hello everyone,

My penis has this weird smell the past two weeks. I keep the hygiene on the highest level with daily washing with antibacterial soap, but somehow the smell comes back throughout the day. It also develops more smegma in this period. I do not notice any other problems when urinating or so. What there might help is that I see a barely-visible red-ish circle on the glans.

I know that the internet is not as good and efficient as paying the doctor a visit, but I live in a small town and the doctor visit will be my last option.

What would you suggest? Any cream or medication to try to cure this disease?

Thanks to everyone who will contribute.

I'm not a doctor but struggled with a very bad UTI once...

It sounds like you have a bacterial/fungal overgrown. That happens more regularly in the uncut population.

If you wash your penis with antibacterial soap that is not necessarily going to help, you may kill bacteria which is healthy, but washing them off could aid opportunistic bacteria/fungi to settle under the skin. These could cause smell, more smegma, colour change.

I'd recommend you to visit your doctor/GP/dermatologist/urologists to take a sample and figure what settled in. It could turn into a UTI if it is not treated properly.

Over the counter cream just like canesten could help, but high chance that wouldn't solve the root cause of your issue.

Buckle up, and go to the doctors. It doesn't sound serious, but better safe than sorry. :)

Sound like a fungal infection. I have had numerous bouts with jock itch over the years, which is awful. The large red welts, the incredible tenderness, the insane, over the top itching, oozing and the smell. Nothing nastier. But lately I have this situation where the skin at the fold of my legs sticks together and is very annoying. Sometimes I literally have to physically separate the skin, as it sticks together that bad. There is no real pain or over the top discomfort, but there is a smell. A quite pungent odor that could be embarrassing in a sexual situation with someone. This situation- no welts or itching, just the odor. Something is definitely going on. I have asked my doctor and he said a culture would have to be done, but that hasn't happened yet. I tried tolnaftate spray, (antifungal) and it clears it up every time, but it always comes right back.

Guess I'm going to have to get that culture done and find out once and for all.

Good luck with your situation. Hope my story may have helped.

I'm telling you...use hydrogen peroxide. Daily. It has to be stopped at its source
