Snakes on a plane

I've had to travel via plane quite a bit recently and have noticed that every time I am directed through the body scanner, "something" is detected near my crotch, always at the side of the pant leg that I dress towards. It always leads to a pat down, which is quite annoying. Does this happen to anyone else, or is the security system just flawed with a bias towards harassing me?

I've had my right shin patted down several times. Who knows. Pretty much the entire TSA process is a money-siphoning scam so your guess is as good as mine.

Denver airport fired two TSA agents over a fondling of men issue. A male TSA agent would give the signal to a female agent. She'd have the machine give a false alert so he could feel up guys he thought were hot. They were finally caught but not until numerous complaints had been filed.
