Between "Universal Tax-funded healthcare" and "Soylent green is people"?

Seriously. Let's get down to what it's about.

That's really where government healthcare will lead.

Wow. I am impressed. That is a well formulated and carefully considered argument. I am not sure about a couple of points you made there but generally, you convinced me. Where did you do your research?

What an idiot.
Fear mongering foolishness.

You don't know the first thing about healthcare, insurance, or how pharmaceutical companies buy legislation to make themselves rich at your expense.

In fact... privatized healthcare has shown a definitive trend toward fewer and fewer people being covered.
The insurance companies, run by men whose multimillion dollar bonuses are tied to quarterly performance, try to reduce liability and payouts by refusing coverage or not coving 'pre-existing" conditions.

But all this does is to drive down the number of people paying into the health coverage system... which results in insurers having to RAISE rates to cover those who are insured, which in turn drives those who are younger and less likely to need healthcare to be unable to afford insurance... which further reduces the number of people paying in... which drive up rates...

The idiots who staunchly defend the idea that speculators having nothing to do with healthcare should be able to profit on the care of the sick and dying,
are the SAME iditos who staunchly undermine labor unions and that drive employers to provide healthcare benefits. The number of empoyers offering health benefits is declining yearly... and the quality of insurance offered by those that still do is declining as well.

The result will be a world where the wealthy have great health coverage and the poor are kicked to the curb, while the middle class will receive just enough care to bankrupt them and squeeeze out every asset they have managed to accure in a lifetime of work... and then refusing them any additional care so they will die...leaving nothing to their heirs but debts.

Look around... the US has the most technologically advanced healthcare in the world... we spend more on healthcare than any other nation.... and yet we are NOT living longer than nations who have national healthcare.
The US ranks as 45th!

Why?

Because in the US your doctor's first question is never "how are you feelings".... its "how good is your insurance?"
And your answer determines your quality of care.

Conservatives don't give a shit because they honestly believe that wealthy people are BETTER than poor people and deserve to live wheras the poor and middle class deserve to die.

But beyond that... privatized healthcare is NOT about providing care... its about making a profit from suffering.
Doctors pay is tied to how much care they can DENY, not how many people they serve.
Americans pay 3 times as much for medications as any other nation.
Trust me, the drug companies selling their products in Canada are making a profit off of those sales. otherwise, they would not be selling them... but unregualted privatized healthcare in the states is RAPING you for three times as much because, well, you want to LIVE... don't you?

And your elected representatives have been paid off to protect pharmaceutical companies usurious pricing.

You have to be a profoundly stupid human being to imagine that this is a good way to run healthcare.

In fact.... EVERYBODY being insured means MORE money in the healthcare system.
Government oversight means companies can only charge REASONABLE profits for their services.

And universal coverage means your Doctor focuses on getting you better... rather than on evaluating how best to deplete your assets.

On a basic level... if you want to keep the US afloat... you damn well better be thinking of keeping baby boomers healthy enough to keep working.
