I'll bet that most of the members are too young to remember when she was the first woman to seek the office of VP of the US. She seemed to vanish after being defeated but I believe she still was active behind the scenes. I'm sad to learn of her death.

I was in the O'Hare airport in '86 and she was going the opposite direction down the concourse. Someone yelled out to her, "You'll do it in '88." Fortunately or unfortunately, she didn't.

Like or dislike her political views, it was Geraldine Ferraro who opened many doors for women seeking high political office. She was strong and intelligent and even when I did not agree with her viewpoints at the height of her popularity, I could see at least her reasons for and a way she could justify her viewpoint. She will be missed for her contribution and for her examples.

It's true... things like this does happen in threes.
Loleatta Holloway, Elizabeth Taylor and now Geraldine Ferraro.

I remember Geraldine on the steps of city hall in Wasilla giving her first speech praising a young John McCain. RIP.
