That's good to hear but while you may be seeing a part who is less inclined to circumcise, the circumcision rates are simultaneously going up in some populations.
I'm not sure where you are getting information that circumcision rates are going up in some populations. The American academy of pediatrics which is the most pro-circ medical body in the world even acknowledges rates are on a steady decline and continue to be.
Just one example that our organization was alerted to was from a pediatrician in Wichita, Kansas. He told us that he is seeing a 60/40 split (60% circumcised, 40% intact) and while that may not seem like much, for a mainly white conservative population that is a major shift from just a few decades ago.
Our biggest problem right now is the Midwest. We are not going to lie, they are holding up even more progress from being made. The Midwest has always been the infant circumcision capital of this country and continues to be.
Stats can be broken down by race, region, religion, single parent, two parent, urban, suburban, etc.
If you go just by race 2000-2009
White - 86%
Black - 61%
Hispanic - 22%
2010-2019
White - 81%
Black - 58%
Hispanic - 17%
I think the biggest confusion people have when looking at circumcision rates is the largest population of intact males in this country have yet to even reach age 18. Once that group reaches the age when they start having kids you will see the rates fall even faster as circumcision status tends to follow generation after generation.
My brother and I both broke the generational circumcision cycle in our family. We are both circumcised but my 5 year old nephew and my 6 week old son are both intact...we ended the cycle.
