I do understand what you're saying...
1.)People get their information from somewhere...yeah, well, 'somewhere' is the problem, isn't it?
2.) Divergent views of reality...I don't want a view (a subset, as it were) of reality: I'd like the whole 'real deal.'
Divergent views of reality are what Trump, Hannity, Rove, Limbaugh, Spicer, Conway, (et al.) offer;
Put another way (and I agree 'to the extreme') , realities we cannot agree on are, IMHO, hallucinations.
3.) I don't see where anyone here has suggested acceptance a collapse of social cohesion.
4.) No, we don't take Trump's word at face value--I don't think even members of his own party do.
5.) I believe in the
idea of responsible journalism, I just haven't seen much of it, especially since the beginning of this 2016 campaign.
6.) and so, since idea and practice of responsible journalism differ, where does that leave me?

@TexanStar, please point me to what you think are credible media, which I seem to have trouble finding on my own
