"Italy" as a nation is barely more then 150 years old. Egypt has gone through so many transformations it's impossible to say how or what it is. Turkey as in the ottoman empire is not as old as france...the ottomans came about in the 12th-13th century, france was created with the crowning of king clovis in the 3rd century, almost a 1000 years difference.
Ok, having looked for research i found nothing to back up claims that Italy or Turkey are older although i did find out that the specific cities of Istanbul and Rome are older than Paris.
Civilisation began around Egypt but i could'nt find how long it has been called Egypt as a nation.
On one site, cylist.com i found that France was pegged into second place as the world's oldest country by surprisingly San Marino? I don't know how to copy more than one link for posting and i already had this one copies:-

It suggests Ethiopia is actually the oldest nation even tho it used to be named Abyssinia.
Elsewhere i also found evidence that India has existed as a nation (regardless of its commonwealth rule) since the 11th BC tho i find that hard to believe.
This was very interesting a question and just goes to show how some facts can be very suprising, i would never have thought of France as a world's oldest country.
Denmark and Switzerland are also amongst the oldest (according to cylist)
