The issue with this for women is - how do we know what size condoms to keep in our dresser? There are no condoms in my dresser at this moment, but I would think it would be very odd keeping various sized condoms in my dresser.

Use a female condom- excelelnt for githy cocks. Problem solved! Feels better for a guy too.

The problem with male condoms are that they assume you are the same hardness & size all the time, which they don't test for, & are not tested with external & internal friction together, & simply don't last a long time. So basically, if you're into long varied sessions they burst - repeatedly. One really cut me to pieces once.

The only problem with female condoms is that women don't like using them.

BTW, proof of being STI free is no guarantee that your partner won't pick up, or develop something in the future.

The only problem with female condoms is that women don't like using them.
I have no idea how to use one. The drawings on the packet are confusing. I got them for free at a clinic. So I asked the doctors, nurses, assistants, and the partridge in the pear tree how to use them. I was given five copies of the same instructions from the packet. I'm not trying to use birth control or prophylactics I don't understand. Improper use is useless to me. I know very well how to use a normal condom, and in 15 years of fairly prolific, frequently vigorous sexual activity, only once has one broken.

Only once have I seen female condoms for sale anywhere. It was a sex toy shop. The price was obscene. For $12, the drugstore has a box of 15 regular condoms. For $18, I can get 5 female condoms from an internet shop with discount condoms.

I gave mine to a neighbor. She gave them to a friend. She gave them to a cousin. The cousin threw them out. I guess I'm not alone.

femidon: 10 for £43
durex extra safe: 12 for £7.99

sorry but five quid a shag is going to put a serious dampener on our sex life.

''sorry, honey, until the power bill has been paid we'll have to cut down to three shags a month.''

and despite much trying i've never managed to fit one properly without several minutes of uncomfortable up cunt fumbling {after which i was actually a bit too tender to enjoy sex} and even then i really wasn't sure it was in properly.

plus you just can't see or feel if it's damaged.

You just confirmed all I feared regarding actually trying to use one of those wretched things. It just does not seem safe.

it's not that i've ever damaged one, but the paranoia of not being able to do that pre-climax check just ruined it for both of us.

and did i mention the noise? you need loud music or you'll spend the whole time listening to the rustling of garbage bags sound effect. lol

If you have read this far, I congragulate you. Because I dont know how much more absurd I could have made this. Hope you had a good laugh.

LOL ! It was a good laugh :)

The real question is who should put the condom on? The guy with the girl looking on in anticipation, or the woman by grabbing the base and rolling it on.

I think it's a matter of both ! Fun either way ! :)

''sorry, honey, until the power bill has been paid we'll have to cut down to three shags a month.''

LOL ! I'm not sure how much they cost here in Canada. It has been a while since I price checked.

I have no idea how to use one. The drawings on the packet are confusing.

I feel the same way too. I've always wanted to try a female condom just for the hell of trying it out but the drawings are so intimidating ! I wonder if there is a video on the net where it shows you how to put it on...er... I mean in.

If you can insert a menstrual cup or tampon without an applicator, a female condom should be no problem. The older models were squeaky and crunchy, but the newer one has a silkier feel.

When I've used them I actually had less concern about them breaking as they feel more substantial. While my boyfriend and the ex I used them with loved the 'free' feeling. I did experience a dulling of sensation with the previous type, the new one, however, feels much better.

They're still too expensive, though.

I always have condoms. Every size, many kinds. When I go out to fuck, I just carry a big purse so I know which compartment to pull from. Yes, people think it is strange that I keep so many condom. Do you know what happened the last time I didn't use one?? I got a baby!

Well done you - girl power!

I've gotta laugh @ all the funny excuses women use not to wear them - they're worse than blokes! Lol

When these were heavily promoted in 98/99 they only cost a little more than male condoms. Because women heavily derided them, " I don't wanna put a shopping bag in my minge!" & the like, using all the excuses that men do - sales never picked up.

That's why they cost more - price fixed by demand - more demand, fewer costs/unit more entrants into the market & the product!

The WHO says uts the only way to cut births/aids in developing countries, & if half all condom sales were female condoms, the price would be comparable.

No condom lasts a couple of hours good hard use. As for £3 a pop, thats way less than viagra! A change is as good as a rest! If we bag up, so should you! And if you live in the UK you can get them from a clinic for free Dolfette!

there is no clinic in my town.

they're more expensive each than a dozen condoms, so still cheaper to use condoms for a couple of hours good hard use.
i DID try them, thank you, and we BOTH hated them.
he prefered being able to see the cunt he was fucking. they ruined his visual...and his aural. those squelchy, slapping sounds were lost.

I'm not going to go into who "should" supply it, but a practical way of going about it would be for women to have some standard sized ones, just in case, and to expect a larger guy to have his own. I am not saying a woman "should" supply them, but in the interest of her own safety she should probably have some around. Ideally, men would all be responsible enough to carry their own.

This is of course just an opinion based on what I would do if I was a single woman having somewhat regular casual sex. In the event of a larger guy not having one for himself, I'm sure he'd be willing to make a quick run for some if he's really interested; otherwise, he probably wasn't worth the time to begin with.

I don't have any excuses for not using the female condom. I have reasons, and they are valid. Female condoms are less effective than male condoms, cost way more, and I'm not sure that I can use one well enough to prevent unwanted pregnancy. (I suspect this is why they are shown to be less effective in clinical test. Mass confusion.) After watching the above-posted video, I feel far better prepared to use one, but doubt I ever will. Frankly, my attitude has always been like that of many other women: "You'll wear a condom, any condom, or I'll fuck someone else who will."

i think it's highly amusing that someone thinks women don't pull their weight as far as contraception goes.

as soon as a relationship goes long term and committed it's pretty much assumed that we should take over complete responsibility.

I don't find that video much cop at all. Putting a femidom through a fixed width hole in a bottle is going to be nothing like putting it in a vagina. My problem, and the main reason I've never bought one (let alone tried one), is left unanswered there - how deep / roughly where does the inner ring have to be positioned in order for the thing not to be dislodged during sex? Does it matter? Will the initial penetration help place the thing?

That video shows that you stick the femidom in a cunt closed end first -:duh: I have that kinda figured.

Having had more than one relationship that relied on external prophylactic contraception, and assuming I could have worked out placement issues, I would have happily tried using those instead of condoms but the men in question were wary and expressed a lack of trust in the notion of a femidom. As dolf says above, no pre-ejaculation check of integrity possible = not good.

Another thing that, in my condom buying days, radically decreased the likelihood of me buying femidoms to the point where I didn't was lack of availability. I did go out one day with the idea of buying some and trying them but after 3 pharmacies (in a busy part of a major European city) I gave up.

Ah well - not something I have anything more than an academic interest in these days. Being in a monogamous relationship with a guy who's been snipped is beautifully low maintenance ...for both of us

i got the feeling that it was more about it completely blocking their view of my cunt than it was about safety though.
men are usually very visual & just love to watch themselves sliding in and out.

I can see why that'd make a difference - it would to me too. Also a reason you will never see them used in porn.

i think it's highly amusing that someone thinks women don't pull their weight as far as contraception goes.

as soon as a relationship goes long term and committed it's pretty much assumed that we should take over complete responsibility.

In a lot of couples that's true - I'd go so far as to say the majority. There are exceptions, though. One thing I can't fault my ex on was dedication to contraception. Also - I think there is more of a balance in who is considered responsible for contraception in a relationship that has already produced children. In fact in my experience the imbalance swings the other way - an awful lot of women expect a man to have a vasectomy after that relationship has produced the number of children she wants. These same women won't consider tubal ligation giving their reason as being 'what if I want another child'. Huh?

I know the reverse can happen too, but of the 'committed with kids' couples I know (of various ages) who I have discussed this with there is a definite imbalance of the women keeping their fertility and men being expected to give theirs up.
