WOW! It has never crossed my mind that an individual who has soap and water would not take a shower or bath daily. I shower every morning and at night before getting in my bed. And I use soap everywhere just to remove the germs and bacteria of the day. WOW! (maybe I am just a clean freak) And I love the smell of soap on a guys skins when he he right out the shower!

Soap everywhere.... moisturize with baby oil when my skin is still wet. I only wash my hair every other day tho. And I do love the smell of a person fresh out of the shower.

I definitely do not shower every day. When I do, I was hair(on head), face, neck, pits, ass, dangly bits and front torso. Sometimes arms and legs if they're dirty or if I've been sweating. I have a nice tuft of hair on my chest, so I usually lather up in that, and then scoop the soap up from there to wash my face, crotch and ass. Everything else gets direct contact with the bar of soap.

I use body wash all over. Everywhere. I enjoy washing my cock and balls too. But it is even better when someone else is in the shower with me washing my cock and balls.

Sorry got to chime in as an RN. You need to clean your entire body daily to remove bacteria and pollutants. For those with skin issues many great natural moisturizing soaps are available. If you have dry skin avoid the use of a washcloth and use a good non scented moisturizing soap like Dove, Olay and Basis. Even better than soap are skin cleansers such as Cetaphil Lotion, Oilatum-AD and Aquanil.

We live in a world full of pollutants and our pours get clogged with this crap, so in all you may be doing more harm then good by not removing them daily with a short luke warm shower and rather then using a towel to dry off air dry, then apply a good lotion like
Cetaphil Cream, Moisturel Cream, or Eucerin Cream. If you have severely dry skin, apply an oil to the still moist skin such as Neutrogena Light Sesame Oil, Hermal Body Oil, Alpha-Keri Oil or Robathol, then apply a moisturizing cream and also apply the moisturizer at bedtime.

Just my 2 cents for what its worth!!

How would all of the parts of your body not being exposed to pollutants, i.e. covered with clothes, get clogged pores from pollutants? What about those of us living in very rural areas with minimal pollutants?

Sweat and our clothing clogs our pores, too. They say the purpose of showering is to prevent disease. If you just rinse, you cannot get all of the germs off. Therefore, it's beneficial to shower and wash daily. It's also good to exfoliate dead skin from various body parts, even your back, legs, and feet.

For people with severe dry skin, there are many excellent soaps, body washes and lotions, even ones that are unscented/do not smell like perfume. You can also use simple baby oil to moisturize while you are still wet. Trust me, your skin will thank you when you get older.

I have really dry and itchy skin during winter too, but I still wash everything and just lotion by body down including my dick. I have thought about only doing bits and pieces of my body, but I would be self conscious about the way I smell all day. I would probably be fine but I don't want to risk it.

Dove body wash is wonderful. I use it all over then finish with the same conditioner I use on my hair, I just use it all over my body. It makes a great moisturizer. I can't stand an oily feel to my skin, so I tend to stay away from the body oils personally.

When you take a shower, do you use soap/body wash all over your whole body, or just certain parts (pits, crotch, ass, feet)? I have really dry skin sometimes (esp. in the wintertime), and have been thinking about only using water on the majority of my body since like 80% of your body really doesn't create bad smells. Of course, I'll still be using deodorant afterwards. What do you guys think? Is this crazy?
Everywhere. Dirt and odor aren't selective and if dryness is a worry get moiisturizers.

Unless you live in a bubble we are all exposed to pollutants, it is just the way it is. Rural or not, you body generates bacteria and clothing actually exhilarates its growth. Washing the body daily is not only healthy for your skin but also for your daily health. The exception to this would be someone who is sedentary all day as a results of health issues...ie: lives in a convalescent home or like.

I use alot of great smelling products like. L'Occitane products with are more floral and herbal products but make any one smell atheral and blissful. I like the Lavender or Verbenia soap so I use it EVERYWHERE... The bar of soap makes great lube to ;)

I haven't read every post in this thread, so sorry if this is duplicating some else's suggestion. I swim competitively and am in the pool 60-90 minutes a day, usually 6 days a week, which can dry the hell out of your skin, especially if you use regular bar soap on top of that when you shower. My solution is to use a high-quality body wash with a lot of moisturizers. Neutrogena makes a good one that you can buy in a large bottle at reasonable cost at "big box" stores, but there are many good ones. I almost never have a problem with dry skin anymore, and I don't apply any moisturizer over my body after I shower, except on my face. Absolutely no reason for you not to be able to shower and soap down daily and not have dry skin, if you're using the right product.

Exactly.

I shower daily and wash everything. I normally use a regular bar soap to seriously wash the day away and then follow up with a moisturizing bodywash. I keep my head clean shaven so no need to shampoo and then I always use lotion afterwards.. Gotta stay so fresh and so clean:wink:

I get caught up in this decision frequently. I am a clean freak but I also have very dry skin. I use a skin moisturizer every day and still end up with itchy dry spots. There are days when I hit the gym first thing and do cardio so I definitely need a shower after that. Then, I return to the gym after work and wind up sweaty again so I need another shower. A couple days of this leads to dry flaky skin. Other days I get dirty at work and then go home to shower. Visting the gym later in the evening leads to another shower. I always soap up good after the gym because of the MRSA thing and other germs. There are times when I think that I should back off to just the face and other vitals.
