I rented this 2003 film this week and found it a well-done yet disturbing story based on true events in 1999. Private Barry Winchell of the 101 Airborne in the U.S. Army was killed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Winchell, tookup with a transgender, Capernia, in a Nashville bar and the relationship news was spread around the base, which led to his murder.
Two fellow Airborne servicemen were tried, convicted and sentenced, although Justin Fisher who was the instigator, has already been released.
Calvn Glover who actually did the beating with a baseball bat while Winchell was sleeping, received the longest sentence, may or may not still be incarcerated.
Hopefully both of these individuals "dropped the soap" while in prison.
Unless you are very homophobic, you might want to check this movie out.
