jumped into the polar bear enclosure...for what, i do not know...presumably to "commune" with the four of them there...

predictably she got bit a few times, but then she was rescued...

let us hope at the hospital she gets her tubes tied after her wounds are treated...

we would not want this stupidity to be bred even further into the human race

hmmmm...i'll just go swim over and say hello to the gigantic bear...

At least she's not American. Next time a Euro comments about the vast stupidity of Americans, let's remind them of this headcase.

Clearly a case for the local looney bin in the area, and as point of interest, Cute Knute the polar bear can hardly be considered dangerous; he was raised from a little itty bitty cub at the zoo- if that was him there.

It was Angela Merkel - but they photoshopped her face to protect her identity. :p

(Gordon Brown pushed her in, tho...)

What a neat way to reduce the surplus population.

Why'd they rescue her? Were they afraid she'd make the bears sick?:puke:

    It wasn't Knut...

Knut is in the enclosure next door...these were four other adults at the zoo.

some other loony jumped into Knut's enclosure last year though.

    She sounds brain-addled.
Maybe she'd been reading the Politics forum too long.

no rubi...if she had been reading the poli forum, she would have chosen a much surer way of ending it all...like jumping off the top of the Empire State Building.

Everyone knows that being mauled by polar bears is less aggravating then the politics forum :wink:

Rule #2: There is only one rule governing what happens in the Politics Forum.

Just read that the woman was fined for trespassing. Good.

If she tries to sue the zoo for this anyway I wouldn't be surprised. Appalled, but not surprised.

Suggested warning sign. "Trespassers may be fined or eaten."

She jumped in at feeding time! :yikes:

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/04/11/polar.bear.attack/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

This is exactly why I maintain that black people are inherently smarter than white people. There may be more white physicists, and doctors and such but you never see a news story like this with a black person in it.

Think about it this kind of thing happens at least 3 times a year worldwide. When was the last time you saw a news story where a black person or a hispanic or latino has climbed a fence or other barrier to enter the cage of an animal at the zoo?

Don't get me wrong we love the zoo; but when the signs say don't stick your hand in. . .WE DON'T STICK OUR HAND IN! :duh: White people always want to get a closer look at the lion, tiger, grizzly bear, polar bear, buffalo, gorilla, or other large wild animal with teeth. What's up with that? I understand the concept of curiosity, heck I have even taken a stupid dare or two in my day. Call me a chicken, but if it involved a wild animal I'd have to lose that bet.
