Imagine a person. This person has hair on thier head. The hair is in block braids.

Now imagine an oval of skin on my foot, below the big toe, just before the arch. Its as if the skin is growing in block braids. Also its dead and white of course. Its been like this for a couple months and its starting to piss me off. There are also two small circles, like moons for the bigger one, hovering around that recently popped up. Another thing...the main big one, seems to have a big split in it now and it goes pretty deep into my foot.

I hates it! Does anybody have a clue as to what this could be and how to get rid of it?

Sounds fungal. You need to go to a dermatologist and get a prescription creme/ointment. I'm guessing it will be a steroidal or antibiotic.

You may want to clean your tub/shower with something like Clorox Clean-up or maybe Lysol every day until it clears up.

Sounds like a plantar wart to me. Those things can go pretty deep. Don't pull it out with pliars as it will bleed all over the place. They're a form of HPV so be careful. Google it to see what it looks like. And yeah, you'll need a doctor.

Sounds like a verruca or plantar wart. See your doc for a proper diagnosis though. You should always do that rather than ask for advice on bulletin boards.

If that's what it is, there are various options for treatment: a) chemical burning with something like salicylic acid, b) freezing, either by doc or over-the-counter treatment like Wartner, or c) having it cut out. Of the three, c is the quickest and most effective. A can take 10-12 weeks depending on the size and age of the wart and b isn't always effective. They're very contagious, so if you're sharing a bathroom, wash out the shower/bath after you use it and don't walk around barefoot. Don't go swimming until it's cleared up. Whatever else you do, see your doc asap.

Can you take a pic of it so we can see what it looks like? Also tell us what the dr.'s diagnosis is.

I have no clue what it could be. The first thought in my head when I started reading your post was fungus from the shower......and ring worm is a fungus along with athletes foot. If you are taking showers in a community shower you need to be careful. There is always somebody that has athlete's feet. (I remember you telling me that you are in the military so in my mind I am thinking community showers.)

I don't know anything about plantar warts.

Tell us what you find out.

Fuck man! I looked up that plantars wart shit....it looks just like a few of those pictures. Although some are really out of this world, mine is like this Plantar Wart Picture (Hardin MD Super Site Sample)

Those pics are fuckin disgusting! I think im going to make an appointment for the doctor. Its military so I probably wont see one for like 2 weeks lol. (thats how free universal healthcare will be if it ever gets instated!).

Edit: I havent really been in a community shower in about 4 months. Before that I was in the desert and shared a shower in a room with two other people. Now I'm trying to remember if i had it back then or not. I don't think I did, but I had other foot problems at the time I was worrying about (i get ingrown toenails like a motha when I run alot). I'm about to go to wal-mart and get some wart remover, I think there are special kinds specifically for planters wart, im going to see if they have any. Wish me luck! I fucking hates it! I HATES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a plantar's wart on the side of my litlle toe that was half the size of my toe. I tried for years to get rid of it but cutting it off , freezing and chemical to no avail. And then one day, the damn thing just shriveled up
all on its own. Weirdest thing.
