What were the terms and conditions of the hosting of the site?

Hmmm. It was registered in 2000 with TUCOWS, one of the big registrars. No problem there. But the WHOIS records show that something happened on June 19, and that it's now on Client Hold. I've never seen a domain on Client Hold before, and don't know offhand what it means.

FWS1 looks like a reseller for BlueFish Hosting. But FWS1 is free hosting. I've found that free hosts don't work too well, although the big ones like Tripod or Netfirms are at least fairly reliable.

But no matter who the host is, you have to keep your own backups. No exceptions!

The domain fws1.com no longer has any root DNS entries so cannot be browsed by name on the net. Thus neither do any any subdomains (spririt1980.fws1.com) for for example. At least it doesn't exist according to any DNS server I've tested it against. Do you have a IP address for the box?

The domain itself is registered to 100 Best Inc at 180 N 100 E Ste F
Richfield, Utah 84701. Unfortunately it looks like they didn't pay the bill and it's on hold, sorry.

There's a contact, a Jay Franklin of also of Richfield. You can reach him on 435-896-6060. Maybe he can help...:biggrin1:

    Maybe you should stop.

Odd, FWS stands for Free Web Space.

DNS lookup says that it expries in 2008, so it looks like the renewal on the domain name has been paid. Of course the host account might have expired. That's not so easy to check.

That's what I think - they didn't pay their hosting bill, or a reseller one rung up (Blue Fish Hosting?) didn't or some other variable. Bluefish have some issues with their DNS so that could be part of the problem.

The netblock used/resold by BlueFish is owned by iPowerWeb, Inc, of 919 East Jefferson Street in Pheonix 85034. Contact is David Sipes, dsipes@ipowerweb.com.(310-314-1606).

Wally, all you can do is email them. I hope you have a back up of your stuff. Best of luck....

It looks like 'something' happened at iPowerweb in relation to Bluefish around May 14th. Bluefish have been around since 2002, not quite yesterday so maybe all well be well.

    Be patient, grasshopper.

    Does this sound familiar?

    "
Beyond the depths of the oceans, higher than the mountains there is a river that flows, a river that has been flowing for centuries,a river that has healing power,a river that binds all of mankind, this river is Unconditional LOVE!!
    "
