While driving to work this morning and listening to an oldies station, the song playing (Thunder Island by Jay Fergusion, released in 1978) took me back for a moment to my college days and memories of a college classmate who had huge tits and one of hottest girls I ever had a chance to get naked with! What song from the past evokes memories of a memorable sexual encounter?

"Beast of Burden" Rolling Stones. That always does it for me.

"Halo" Depeche Mode. That song coupled with the chilean sauvignon blanc...

"Knocking on Forbidden Doors" Enigma. Exhausting evening. Needed the rest of the weekend to recover.

"Big Sky Country" Chris Whitley. Nothing like hands slipping around you from behind while driving 90 miles an hour...

"Got to give it up" Marvin Gaye. You had to be there.

"The Sky is Falling" Stevie Ray Vaughan. New Orleans, 1994. The ultimate in debauchery.

"Closer" and "Ruiner" from NIN. Thanks, Trent.

    "Madame Butterfly" Thanks, Puccini.

I could go on and on but i'll stop for now.

Ah, people say that the sense of smell is tied closest to memory, I say hearing a close second.

My memory/sex detabank is as eclectic as an iPod set to "random". ;)

"No woman no cry by Bob Marley" ( Amazingly tall Jamaican girl with the longest legs and juiciest lips )

"Pinch Me by Barenaked ladies" ( A redheaded godess with 34 DD's that deepthroated me to stupidity )

    Ah, good times. ;)

Lifeguard, thanks for mentioning Thunder Island. I loved that song but I didn't have the same sexual connection to it as you did. I had forgotten the name and artist. It was and is sensual. Back then I wondered if the label squawked about the line "we made love ... out on the cool sand". Racy ... even for the 70s.

The sounds of old school funk (James Brown, Parliament) and various old Motown soul always brings back good memories.

Not so much a particular song as entire discs for me...

The ones that evoke the most powerful memories are the Red Hot Chili Peppers' BloodSugarSexMagik and Enigma's MCMXC A.D.

Hello, I Love You, The Doors

This song was playing the first time I was with my first big guy. He was also the first man to go down on me or to give me an orgasm.
Every time I hear this song I think of him and that first night in his dorm and I smile.

    I LOVE THESE SONGS!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna admit something embarassing... I actually have a cd made for the next time I have an intimate, sexual relationship with someone. I intend to play the cd during an act of sex and each song has it's own trigger in my head.

    I've got:

    Astonished by BranVan300
    A Message by Coldplay
Light my fire by The Doors
A few songs that are personal favourites between myself and the other person...

And then some harder songs to give the sex a bit of harder edge and roughness...
Little rap with a firm beat...

    All good times.

I lost my virginity (with a woman) listening to John Cougar's American Fool album. The song Hurts So Good was never the same after that.

"The Package" by A Perfect Circle. Great background noise for a one-night stand.
YouTube - a perfect circle - the package

    Clever got me this far
    Then tricky got me in
    Eye on what I'm after
    I don't need another friend
    Smile and drop the cliche
    'til you think I'm listenin'
Take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again

    Peripheral on the package
    Don't care to settle in
    Time to feed the monster
    I don't need another friend
    Comfort is a mystery
Crawling out of my own skin
Just give me what I came for
Then I'm out the door again

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get just what I need
Lie to get what I crave
Lie and smile to get what's mine

    Eye on what I'm after
    I don't need another friend
Nod and watch your lips move
If you need me to pretend
Because clever got me this far
    Then tricky got me in
I'll take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I'm craving
Lie and smile to get what's mine

    Give this to me
    Mine, mine, mine
    Take what's mine
    Mine, mine, mine
    Take what's mine
    Mine, mine, mine

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I crave
Lie to smile and get what's mine

    Give this to me
    Take what's mine
    Mine, mine, mine
    Take what's mine
    Give this to me

Take what's mine, take what's mine, mine...
Take what's mine, take what's mine, take what's mine,
    This is mine, mine, mine
