Adele - Someone Like You
Labi Siffre - Something Inside So Strong (actually...that sounds awful). :/
Band of Bros Theme
Schindler's List Theme
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl

Also:
Jupiter from The Planets
Land of Hope and Glory (Pomp and Circumstance).

Love anything soaring and a bit jingoistic, hehe.

I have a friend how cries the second 'Bright Eyes' (form the 70's film Water Ship Down) starts. I don't remember the film, but she tells me it's not one to show your kids.

Simon & Garfunkle did the theme song; a bunch of acid addled animators (true) created the movie that is visually stunning but really, really scary! Choked up - m ore like chewed up! Makes Disney's childhood scared for life Bambi's mother getting killed scene seem little watered down porridge.

Sarah Maclachlan's - Angel
This song was sung a few years ago for a friend at his memorial service, after a car crash in which him and his dad died. And, the guy who sang it succumbed to a debilitating illness late last year.

The Backbeats: Landslide
The most beautiful version of this song, sung by contenders in season 2 of an acapella show called "The Sing-off". Just opens our eyes to how we sometimes lose ourselves in relationships. "I've been afraid of changing, cause I've built my life around you"

Year of the Cat -- Al Stewart

...and I think its because it reminds me of how I once thought my life was destined to be swept up by some "Year of the Cat" girl - compared to how it has turned out.

Yes! This song always chokes me up too. It's so beautiful and so beautifully sung by Art Garfunkel. Great choice!
