Eric Clapton- Wonderful Tonight. (A DJ at a resort once mistakenly played the wrong cut, Tears In Heaven, and ruined an hour of musical foreplay.)

Righteous Brothers- Unchained Melody. If you are not brain dead by the one millionth playing of this romantic ballad, a sure fire deal closer.

Johnny Mathis- True Love Ways. Every time I hear this ooey-goey female song at a resort, I think ex-president Bill Clinton is behind the stage curtain playing riffs on the tenor sax to his latest rendition of Monica Lewinsky in the audience.

Dolly Parton- I Will Always Love You. Brings tears to women's eyes and looks of bewilderment to men's who wonder what the Hell they did wrong to ruin the mood.

A nice selection you have there, though I prefer Emmylou Harris' version of 'I will always love you'. Johnny Mathis is a little too ooey for my taste, but 'Unchained Melody' is what I call a guaranteed clam-opener.

By the way, as you mention James Bond, a whole lot of tunes from these movies are great as songs too - just take

* Nancy Sinatra's 'You only live twice'
* Carly Simon's 'Nobody does it better'
* Sheena Easton's 'For your eyes only'

The last one is, of all, my favorite romantic J.B. tune. Unfortunately since 1995, the quality of the tunes deteriorated.

This is going to sound pretty gay but.....

Sarah McLachlans' - Fear

http://escurridizo.com/mp3/Fumbling%20Towa...y/11%20Fear.m4a

Morning smiles
Like the face of a newborn child
Innocent unknowing
Winter’s end
Promises of a long lost friend
Speaks to me of comfort

But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much to lose
Here in this lonely place
Tangled up in our embrace
There’s nothing I’d like
Better than to fall
But I fear I have nothing to give

Wind in time
Rapes the flower trembling on the vine
Nothing yields to shelter it
From above
They say temptation will destroy our love
The never ending hunger

But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much to lose
Here in this lonely place
Tangled up in our embrace
There’s nothing I’d like
Better than to fall
But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much to lose
I have nothing to give
We have so much to lose...

Ohh .. Good one. I love that song. And to add to that ..

Sarach McLachlan - Possession
But it has to be the piano version. The origional is fine but I like the piano version much much much more.

Listen as the wind blows
From across the great divide
Voices trapped in yerning
Memories trapped in time
The night is my companion
And Solitude my guide
Would I spend forever here
And not be satisfied?

[Chorus]
And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I'll take your breath away
And after I'd
Wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes dear

Through this world i've stumbled
So many times betrayed
Trying to find an honest word to find
The truth enslaved
Oh you speak to me in riddles
And you Speak to me in rhymes
My body aches to breathe your breth
Your words keep me alive

[Chorus]

Into this night I wander
It's morning that I dread
Another day of no way out
The Path I fear to tread
Oh into the sea of waking dreams
I follow without pride
Cause nothing stands between us here
And I won't be denied

[Chorus x 2]

As an intresting side note. I heard this story from a very close friend of mine who is obsessed with Sarah. Apparently this song came from a stalker that Sarah had after her first album. He would send her all these fucked up letters, and this song, or at least a large part of the song, was from one of the letters he wrote her.
Later, he sued her for the rights to the song and was about to win the law suit. However before everything was finalized, he commited suicide because he couldnt bear to cause anymore grief to a woman he loved so much.

Or something like that.

"It's a Small World After All", by Disney.

No, it's not a favorite. In fact, I hate it. But I have little kids and stupid, damned songs like that one go endlessly through my head some days and won't stop. Sometimes I just want to take a chain saw to my cranium to make THEM GO AWAY, BUT THEY WON'T! THEY WON'T!!!

OW! IT'S STARTING AGAIN (pounds head into wall) NOOOOO! OH, GOD, MAKE IT STOPPPPPP... :wow:
