I was thinking the other day that when important things happen in our lives that there is a special song that just resonates with this time in a very deep and personal level.
Hearing them played on the radio never fails to bring back memories of that time.
Put together they make a sound track of the life, loves and sorrows of a life time.
Do you have a sound track for your life?

For me personally -

In the end - Linkin Park, for my childhood and failed marriage.

Sunsets - Powderfinger, for the love I thought I had found after my marriage.

Behind Hazel eyes - Kelly Clarkson, for the love lost.

Somewhere I belong - Myself as I am now.

"Parallels," an album by late 80s and early 90's progressive rock band Fates Warning is my first long term relationship in a nutshell. It's an amazing concept album that describes the turmoil and frustration of a stagnated, failed relationship and the difficulties and fear of moving on better than I've ever seen done musically, and better than most literature on the subject (course I find the emotion much more present when it's musical). Highly recommended, though it's towards the 80s metal end of prog rock; rather Queensryche-ish.
