I experimented with sounding as a younger man. I started using beeswax (!) rolled into a .25 x 6 inch rod. It felt really interesting. I did feel the little valves inside being pushed backwards, but I was very careful. Yes, it did feel good.

I've been doing sounding for 20 years. And as one of the posters said, you can open yourself up to infection. But if you are responsible, you won't get a infection, or hit crossing the street, or killed on a motorcycle. . Everything has risks. . But I look both ways before crossing the street, and make sure my sounding rods are clean. And wear my helmet when on my motorcycle. . Your mileage may very tho. .

Occasionally when I masturbate I have an urge to sound. I generally ignore it as the next time I pee I get a sharp pain which is just no fun.

I use the back of a long, skinny spoon when I do it. It is probably 4 1/2 or 5 inches long. It has a slightly flatter side and a slightly narrower side. Spinning it around feels great.... till immediately after I'm done.

luv sounding

Same here, one must be careful, I use a pressure cooker, wipes and lube. Have used the J curved sounds, and the feeling of the tip sliding down then past the prostrate is electric... it's like getting deep into ones being, and enjoying the sensations as the rod moves down and finally into the bladder.

Not for me, a rod inserted in your urethra.. *ouch*...... just like a Candiru fish doesn't belong, the rod has no business in there, but to each his own..

it actually feels really good... but it takes some practice to get used to the feeling... most folks will think it hurts at first, but that is just their own tension making it difficult.

Use really good sounds that are perfectly polished. Seeing Any scratches or gouges in a sound is when you throw it away and get a new one.

You CAN get an infection whenever you shove a foreign object inside your body... but proper practice includes sterilizing your sounds both after use, and before use... and storing them in a clean and sealed container like tupperware or something similar.

You probably won;t run an autoclave for your sounds, which would be best practice, but cleaning them with alcohol or bleach afterward... and with betadine before use is probably almost as good.

But one important thing... even the cleanest sounds will give you an infection if your hands or dick aren't clean when using them.

Clean under your fingernails and scrub up well when cleaning your sounds before use, and you should get nothing but pleasure.

I pushed too hard and started bleeding (thus the name) but I still like the feel of a sound in with some anal toys to get things going

You should never push....allow them to find their way....you must be gentle and easy going to help it in,.......

This is a pic I took of some medical instruments on display set up in an operating theatre at a hospital museum I visited. Someone had a sense of humour :)

Let me guess. The ball device pictured on the far left is for sounding your anus?

I actually don't know what that one is? It could be a stretcher of some sort tho :)

Well sounds are a medical device. Not much used now, but was designed to open the urethra when syphilis was rampant. Syphilis causes lesion scars to build up in the urethra and impedes urine flow. A male nurse I know who is into BDSM told me they are still used today for similar reasons, but normally other diseases and medical issues now.

There are vagina and anus extenders and scopes--both medical devices as well as play toys. Today's lesson done, class dismissed.

I started inserting things in my penis when I was about 13 years old. I started using the family thermometer as probably everybody else has tried. It burned after when I peed but felt better after I ejaculated. After that it was a search for new items to insert. Anything smooth and with a small diameter was fair game. Finally I found my favorite up in the cupboard near the drink glasses. I don't know how they got there but I found some glass stir sticks. Yes, I know they are dangerous but back then then they were the best thing I ever used. They were just the right diameter and felt so fucking good in my urethra. So nice and smooth when I was fucking then in and out of my peehole. And small enough to allow me to cum while they were still in. The discomfort was minimal after I took it out. I used them for about 20 years without knowing that other people actually put items in their peeholes too. I never got an irritation or infection from using them. I always used my precum and saliva for lube. Although it has been a long time since I have put anything in my penis, I still desire the sensation from time to time.
