Has anyone tried sounding before? I've seen several videos on Xtube, but I was wondering how pleasurable (if at all) it feels. I know it's kind of a fetish thing, but I wanted to know peoples' experiences if they've tried it.

Some men really like it, some just find it stingy and painful. If you're going to try it read up on it, always observe excellent hygiene and go slowly.

I have done a lot of reading on it. Just don't have the stones to try it out yet. I have to be convinced. :)

You don't have to slam something all the way down your cock to try it out, you could try half an inch and then if you liked it research it or find someone experienced to help you out.

True. Although, I would want to be sure to use a proper sound, not just anything like some people do. I don't want to run the risk of infection or worse damage.

That does not look like something I will be trying in the near future! I thought it was never going to end being pulled out there!

Your "common sense" is telling you something -- pay attention!

I've been sounding off and on for a number of years. It gets to be very pleasurable, once you get used to. But, also, once the novelty wears off, it can get boring if you do it too much.

When you first start, the part of the urethra just inside then end of your cock is extremely sensitive, and any stimulation may make it feel irritated. But after you try sounding a few times, the excess sensitivity starts to go away, and it feels a lot better.

The rest of the urethra is not quite so sensitive, at least until you get to the part that curves upward toward the prostate.

As long as you practice common sense and good hygiene and don't insert anything into the bladder, the risk of infection is relatively low. Bladder infections are possible, however, and they need to be treated with antibiotics if the occur. I've been sounding for years and have never had one.

The best thing to use is a stainless steel sound. There are a number of web sites that sell them. chaseunion is one.

If you're determined to insert something into your bladder, about the only thing that's safe would be a sterile catheter. They can be purchased from the same web sites that sell sounds. They are meant to be used once, and then disposed of.

The experience of sounding is physically pleasurable. For me it brings about an increase in the volume ejaculated, greater shooting distance, and a more intense orgasm.

I’ve been using sounds and catheters for a number of years too. Urethral play is not for everyone but everyone i know who has tried it is hooked and for those who enjoy it the pleasures are immense . First rule of this type of play is to keep things sterile or at least very clean with the second rule to use only things designed to be used for such play. Any object has to be super smooth to avoid scratching . The invasion and stretching of the urethra can be mind blowing, with deeper probing reaching the prostate which can produce incredible amounts of precum and intense ejaculations. Some only do this type of play for an hour or less while others like myself enjoy it for hours on end which is why I prefer to use catheters. They have enough flex to be safe to leave in for periods of time yet firm enough to stretch and stimulate everything as well as the prostate. First time is best to have someone show you how but with enough research urethral play is quite easy. Just post any questions you have and I’m sure someone will help out on here.

i have been sounding for a few years now. i started with a 1/4 inch stainless rod and now i can insert a 1/2 inch rod. i tapered my own rods on the ends with a lathe to allow the larger rod's as time went on. my rods are 10 inches long and leave enough exposed to pull them out when i wish to. the first 2 1/2"s is the most difficult. be patient and use a lot of vaseline to prevent internal chaffing.

I had a 'sterile' tube inserted into my bladder, recently, and got a hell of a bladder infection, in the hospital.

I just started sounding and have been amazed just how easy and relatively painless it is. As a beginner, I find it really stimulating but am looking to learn how to increase the pleasure through technique. Any suggestions?

lol no singing required. Go to Yahoo! and search sounding (for videos) and you will have an idea of what is involved. It seems to be insertion and experienicing pleasure in your penis...

It is a little scary at first, but once you really get into it, the feeling is amazing. When ever you are ready, buy a set of real Urethral Sounds. Don't use household objects.

For those of you who do not know what sounding is:

Here is one of my videos...

The term "Sounding" comes from the nautical term for finding depth. Sounds were originally designed to help expand the urethra that had shrunk or closed because of scar tissues developed in it--usually due to syphilis. So not sure where "depth" comes into that, but that is what I have read!

I enjoy it, still say find someone to teach you proper techniques and use only proper equipment!
