God Help Us!
Please take some time and go through this site.
Amusing....but it's in the wrong site section. It's only N2, I can still get to Century city unmolested. Woohoo!!
Oh well, it isn't Iraq and no Westerners are getting killed, why should anyone give a shit?
south africa got there freedom back in 1994
you only get helped out once. (unless your the french and british)
FIFA World Cup 2010, are you coming??
Nobody is asking for help, we are trying to warn the world because our government is presenting misleading facts. Tourists are a target. But like you guys said who gives a shit, right.
We are used to this life style, we know the do's and don'ts. But how about the tourist coming to S.A with high anticipation and then gets killed.
Ps. Sorry for posting in the wrong section.
Nobody should need an excuse to visit SA, but the world cup is a good one and I don't even like football.:biggrin1:
On a more serious note, tourists get killed the world over and of course SA is no exception. I have more concerns about being hit by a drunk driver or run off the road by an insane bus driver than being shot.
As a tourist there some common sense rules to apply the world over and it's been my experience that the ones that get 'hit' are the 'easy' marks. Walking through parts of Pretoria or Joburg at midnight alone wearing expensive kit you are asking for trouble. That's not to excuse crime but when in an area of elevated risk where life is 'cheap' some degree of using ones head is called for.
I've not spent much time in SA and mostly in Cape Town. Mostly I'm just passing through en route elsewhere but I always enjoy returning. Best of luck for 2010, maybe it will be an incentive to do some 'housekeeping'.
I think Orca was responding in jest.
It's called "black humour".
Steady; take two anadin and lie down, it's OK they're white...OMG it's catching.....
It's worse than AIDs!
O/T Actually my father is a fan of anything that benefits the African economy.
I will be in South Africa in early September. I'm not concerned.
I will be spending most of my time there at this place.
