Working in retail I see so many badly behaved kids throwing tantrums, screaming at their mums and throwing themselves on the ground. All mummy is saying is please don't do that, it upsets mummy.
Well if you gave him a smack he would stop pretty damn quick.
There is a huge difference between smacking a child for discipline and child abuse.
We can be arrested for smacking our own children, but hell, let's go and blow up the world we live in.
There are times when I think the world has gone mad.

lilAmy: when i child or animal is spanked it thinks its getting punished for what it just at that moment did, like if you call your dog to you after he pees on the floor and he comes and you yel or hit him, he thinks youre punishing him for comming to you.

I think the thing is to get the balance right really, the problem I have now, is that I really do resent my father for doing so, hey, I don't mind for when I did something wrong, y'know, but as LilAmy said, it's got to be as a punishement for what they did, not what they are doing, or at least show what they're being punished for.

Okay, so I'm not a parent, neither do I ever wish to be, but the fact is, my issue is, I got smacked at 18 with a broomstick because I was mucking around with the record player, (okay banging the lid), and I tell you one thing, when you're old enough to die and kill for your country, you DO NOT want to be treated worse then what most people treat a 2 year old!
