Spend a million dollars

I have NO idea what I would do.......I recently sold a business and have a bit of money to invest. I have the book,"Investing for Dummies" on my bedside table, but every time i pick it up to read, it's as if it's in a different language that I forgot to learn.

I'm of the philosophy that a good teacher can make any subject fun and exciting. In terms of finance and investing, these guys can make the whole thing less intimidating and actually fun:

As for what I would do? Pay off the taxes (good point L_Lynn), pay off all my debts, give 10% to charity, find a great way to invest safely and travel.

The first 10% to my church's food distribution program. Pay off my mortgage, set up a retirement fund for me and the wife, set up trust funds for the kids (One that pays them $1.00 for each $1.00 they earn. None of that "Trust Fund Kid" crap.), take my mom on a cruise, remodel the house, and give any leftovers to family. In that order.
