jesus...i thought i got food poisoning, but it turns out here in New York there is some crazy powerful intestinal bug going around that is overwhelming the hospitals...

turns out i must have picked it up from my infant nephew...i swear kids are like petri dishes...

having been through bad bouts of food poisoning that is what i thought it was...for literally 5 hours from midnight yesterday to 5 AM, i was projectile vomiting and liquid crapping if you will excuse the grossness...

the diarrhea was not that bad, but i have *NEVER* encountered anything like the vomiting...not after a night of drinking, or a bad bout of food poisioning...

it literally went in a sequence where every hour the vomiting was so severe, i thought i was dying...it was more than just the normal spasm that goes on during vomiting...i honestly was wrenched apart with these intense waves of vomiting that were just like seizures they were so intense...i could not breathe, as each sequence would last about 10-12 heaves...

i have never encountered any stomach illness like that, ever...i *FILLED* two large bathroom garbage cans halfway each...*WHILE* having to sit on the toilet since it was coming from both ends so violently...the vomiting was so forceful and violent it was missing the garbage can which was right in front of me, and hitting the wall...it made Linda Blair look like a rank amateur

i stayed in bed almost all day, and could not sleep at all...apparently though, thankfully, it only lasts 24 hours...and i have not, thankfully vomited since 5:00 AM yesterday

if you are in New York, be careful, use purell and stuff...i have never been so overwhelmed by an illness that quickly and violently....the force of the vomiting was so powerful i was actually terrified...

so again, if you are in New York, be careful...i would not have wished that on anyone.

    Poor Flash!

Coming from both ends violently! LMFAO

Drink lots of water. And NO porn. You need to retain your body fluids.

Glad to hear you're doing better, though, and that I'm nowhere near NY.

I've had food poisoning literally more times than anyone I know so I know how horrible that is. I'm sorry you had to go through something even worse and glad you're on the mend.

My buddy's girlfriend had the same thing a few nights ago, they actually went to the emergency room because we feared it could have been something with her appendix. Same symptoms as you described, with pain behind her belly button. Hospital told them that there was something going around...

Sorry to hear about you being very ill. No time is a good time to be puking your guts out while you hold a trashcan on your stomach so your assplosions don't run off from the toilet.

None the less, look up a little about Rotavirus and see if that sounds like what you've been through.

    Flashy,

Feel better soon, man, and be vigilant. The only thing worse than what you're going through is to go through it twice.

Is the city Department of Health taking note, issuing any kind of alert?

Sounds like the aptly-named Winter Vomiting Virus. Sympathies. There's not much you can do but endure it, luckily only for one day.

For cases of actual food-poisoning I swear by nettle tea. Yep, an infusion made from dried stinging-nettle leaves. Usually the cheapest herb tea at the health-food shop. It doesn't taste of much but it's very cleansing and soothing.

You have my full sympathy Flashy. Both me and my Mother had the same two weeks ago. My Mother was due to fly home to the UK but had to stay on an extra week.

I called out the Doctor for both of us as I was worried about dehydration. Neither of us were even able to keep water down. The Doc gave us both injections which worked pretty quickly.

    Sounds awful, Flash. :(

Actually...little sips of coke or pepsi are good after a sickness bug, cos it hydrates ya, and also restores some of the salts, sugar and vitamins you've lost. :)

    Get well, bro.

Norovirus, was it? They can be pretty nasty. The only plus point is it usually clears up fairly quickly too. Hope you're OK. Keep your fluids up and try to get some electrolytes back into your body. When you feel like eating again, go for things like soup, rice and pasta which are fairly easy to digest.

Sorry I hope you are feeling in the pink very soon. It sounds similar to what I experienced when I foolishly thought it would be OK to order sushi in the dessert!
