Pirates of the Caribbean is sooo much better than the Spiderman series, imo!

They both do well considering the source material they have to work with, but I think overall comic book > theme park ride.

It's not about their SOURCE material, HOW they have adapted the source materials is what determines the success.

The motive behind the Spiderman movies is that people are familiar/in love with the comics. I could be wrong on that part, however I'm 100% sure that the theme park ride doesn't motive millions and millions of viewer to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
