Actually some coach from my old high school just recently, patted some kid on the ass and the homophobic kid turned around an hit the coach. a lawsuit insued.

That reminds me of an episode of ER where the guy slapped his son ( who was unknown to be his son at the time to the other soccer moms ) on the butt as he ran out onto the field, then all of the sudden the moms were wailing on him and calling the cops in because they thought he was a pervert or something like that. And it was only at the very end where he HAD to reveal the kid was his son, as no one thought the kid was his because he was white and the son was black, that the police did not persue the case.

I never wrestled until recently. Only as an observer did I witness it. By observation, I thought it was extremely homoerotic.

Well, I recently attended a wrestling class. Sorry, guys, but GOOD GOD it is the most blisteringly homoerotic thing on the face of the planet. It's about as close to having sex with another man as you can come without actually having sex. It was palpable how these straight guys could not WAIT to get their hands on each others' bodies.

Again, this is why jocks and athletes are so homophobic -- because they have to work very, very hard to suppress their awareness of the fact that they are extremely homoerotic.

LOL ! I have never wrestled myself, but am amazed too at how erotic and gay subtexted it is, not to mention that it is rather hot to see these fit blokes packing their bulging bodies into a suit that is as tight and revealing as a speedo. And the way their bums and bulges bounce around as they circle each other and pin each other to the mat as they progress in the match is unbelievable to me, as in Australia it is a very small and less followed sport when compared to America it seems.
On that note, is wrestling still a popular sport in American high schools and in sports classes and gyms ? Or has it died down a lot since its heyday in the 80's as some would have me believe ?

Look, folks. The public expression of touch, in most of it's forms, is slowly being removed from many societies Acceptable Lists. Extremely sad and I fight it as much as possible. This is particularly true in the US and Australia; I don't really have much experience of what happens today in Europe and the UK but would be interested in hearing your opinions.

Sorry to 'take' this fun talk into a slightly different direction...I reckon the ass-slap is great, in sports or otherwise! And the homoeroticism inherent in all same-sex contact sports is one of the reasons I watch rugby and Aussie-Rules footie; how come their hands or faces ALWAYS seem to end up in another blokes crotch!?

Possibly...in some cases, s_lang. But there's the 'doing' of the ass slap, the 'getting' the ass slap, and the 'watching' the ass slap to consider. I think you'll find somewhere in all of those exchanges is a bit of sexual interest. That doesn't mean the guys are all wanting to root on the spot. But going on what I read regularly on this website, men who rate themselves as '100% Straight' admit to admiring another guys cock, ass, etc, even to getting turned-on watching another guy beat off.

So don't discount the amount of sexual interest in ANY exchange between humans. It's always there.

This very true and a very interesting point. (Personally maybe because I'm autistic or because I was touched oo much when I was very young I developed a phobia of touch and I still jump if anyone touches me unexpectedly but as an adult I have tried to integrate some degree of touch into my life). Nevertheless I have the noticed that the rules and mores of acceptable touching have become increasingly constrained even in my limited experience ...

Here in Canada many young men have a phobia of shaking hands and will knock knuckes together instead ...

Singlets, Bulges, Sweat & Grabbing are all part of the sport. It is taken in the upmost seriousness. In fact, any type of humor during a practice or meet is frounded upon. Humor is saved for after when changing.
The singlet shows your entire body as most everyone here knows. I had to be fully comfortable knowing everyone at school knew exactly how large my balls & flaccid or semiflaccid dick were. Also, your rump is on display for everyone to look at.
I must admit I felt more confident in my singlet than my brother did in his speedo for swimming. His coach & team smacked ass as well. I confided in my brother that my ass is very sesnitive to being smacked or grabbed. He said it become less sensitive over time. I am still waiting.
Wrestling in America is more popular than ever. College wrestling is very exciting and provided me with some of my best moments as an athlete & as a man. Today the singlets cover a bit more of the chest & thigh. They are still tight as skin as needed for the sport (No underwear allowed).

The knuckle knocking happens here too. It started in he black community. Frankly, I love it. I think it's beautiful. I hate shaking hands.

I dont mind shaking hands as long as its not fifty times a day and well yes sometimes there are people who just seem so 'siffy' that I dont want to touch them, but
I don't think I'm ever going to knock knuckles, and, speaking personally, just for myself, if I ever smack someone on the ass it's for sure gonna be totally sexual

Thanks, Str82fcuk. I think being on the business end of your gigantic tool must be absolutely torturous, but you've got some good pics too...Trigon

The other thing is that ultimately society, at least as it is currently constructed, does not want men to be peaceful and love each other. This society, and I suppose all (to some degree), want men to be warriors. They want men to be conditioned to fight other men. This is all sports is about; men being conditioned to fight other men. This is the first step toward having men join the military and being turned in to killing machines who are dropped in other countries (Iraq, etc.) to kill other men. Spectator sports is just a degree away from the military, a degree away from the battle field in a war. The same terms are often used in military and sports. In my area, when the two biggest college football teams face off, they call it "Civil War."

Men aren't supposed to love each other. They're supposed to kill each other. So, you have two choices: 1. Rebel, like gay men. 2. Disguise your need for love from other men, such as with these in-motion ass slappings that are NOT to be followed by a wink. ;)

You've definitely got me thinking. I never thought about it from that point of view. If this gets out there won't be anybody to fight the wars any more.

Thinking is a difficult thing to do, which is why so few people do it.

Men in mainstream US society are allowed close physical contact only within a sports context, that is, a context where the ultimate goal is the violent defeat of another group of men. It's a sort of Pavlavian conditioning of violence with the reward being affection from other men, even getting naked with them at the end (in the showers). And I really don't think it's that far removed from the ancient Greek practice of encouraging male warriors to be lovers because they will fight that much harder to protect each other in battle.

And, again, this is probably why straight athletes are so homophobic. Because deep down inside they know how homoerotic they actually are.

 No underwear ? But you wear a jockstrap or something else underneath right for protection ? Damn !

Your nuts & dick need total freedom to move. A jock can lead to pinching or pulling. The singlet supports you enough.

In actuality wrestling naked in a nonsexual situation is truly the best alternative. You just have to be secure in yourself. We would wrestle in the shower room as we celebrated. It was silly stuff lots of the time. We would hold on guy down and squeeze the whole bottole of conditioner on his body. It would take forever for him to rinse it out.
Good times of freedom & confidence.

A jock is to protect, not for comfort. I can't believe you wouldn't wear an athletic support. Enjoy the comfort later while showering off.
