First of all, imo, spying on someone for sexual reasons is just creepy to another level.
There have been many reports in the news, even prior to Tyler Clemente, about people being caught spying on other people for sexual gratification.
If you want to check out your friend's stuff, there have been many other good legitimate suggestions made for you to do so.

In reality most or none of these ideas will work. To be totally honest, most of these will get you into a fight (noting that you're black and from TX, similar to me) I started out wanting to do the same thing w/ my roommates (no camera, and no particular strategy) but but within a couple months and ironically the same week I saw both of my roommates naked. I say just wait it out and go for walking around w/ less clothes on, not naked but maybe down to boxers or so fresh out the shower and perhaps occasionally accidentally leaving the shower door open. If he's anything like my roommates he'll walk into your room, start talking, then realize you're in the restroom and walk out....leaves room for you to do the same.

Other have pointed out the illegality of doing this. Surprisingly, in many jurisdictions the law hasn't caught up to technology. They take into account photography and videotaping, but not wireless video cameras. Of course, recording sound with the video could lead to a "wiretapping" charge.
