Possibly going there next month, mainly to see the lighthouse. Recommendations on motels (nice but inexpensive) and that are gay friendly and allow pets. One dog.

I've only stayed at the Comfort Inn on A1A a few times. I know they take pets (my dog was about 10lbs) and they didn't have any problem with two men sharing a king bed room. They only have a short bit of grass to walk your dog, but there is a beach trail about 2 blocks south of the hotel where you can walk your dog. Not a five star property, but ya get 4 walls, a bed, a door that locks and pretty helpful front desk people.

try vrbo.com they have listings for condos and home in fl. I found a nice condo in Daytona for $300 for a 7 day stay, me and the wife have stayed at this one for the past 4 yrs. ocean and beach front.
