I have recently come across this blog:
WWII Boys Of Summer: St. Mary’s Pre-Flight School
The photographs are of cadets entering the school and shows them either naked, or just in a jockstrap to show their progress through the PT class. I assume the first pictures were on induction and the ones on their progress were taken after a lesson and they just removed their shorts (no shirts in those days)
In many ways they are similar to the "posture" photographs taken at Ivy League Universities in America between the 1940s and 1970s - many of those male (all of them in sets of three) used to show up on Tumblr sites, long after the source material had been destroyed between 1995-2001, ostensibly - though it seems a few pictures escaped the flames as they have been offered at enormous prices on eBay till they got wise to it and stopped the practice. Brian says that he has 500 of these pictures, and I am just wondering if anyone has a link to any other sites where the male pictures (in the case of the Ivy League pictures) or the St, Mary's might be found. All the relevant Tumblr sites are long gone.
I'd just like to say, in case anyone thinks this is just sick voyeurism, that the St Mary's pictures were taken only between 1942-1946, and most, if not all, those photographed will be long dead. I think of all the Tumblr/Ivy League pictures I ever saw they had all been taken in the 1940s up until the very early 50s. I can understand the St Mary's pictures got taken due to military discipline, but how did the universities get away with it at all - especially in the 1970s?.
From my own British army experiences in the early 2000s, naked medicals (physicals in America) were not unknown but nobody ever photographed us, officialy or otherwise. Looking back now, I wouldn't have minded if they had
They are in no way pornographic photos, but just very ordinary looking men - almost boy next door, and I find them very attractive and pleasant to look at.
Thanks if you can help, and thanks for reading this far.
