I agreed with joerugby and Herodotus (both replied just above). The body language and self-assertiveness/self-confident do make a difference. It can be very manly and sexy for the guy standing in this type of position.
This topic just reminded me of someone I've noticed at the gym roughly over a month ago. Long story short, we ran into each other for the 1st time and I've got a vibe that there is something there between him and I, some non-verbal and mutually attractions. I've noticed he had a wedding ring on and I had mine on as well. After a few glances at each other, then he started to stand with his left hand on his waist and his right hand was just hanging down posing in front of the wall-length mirror on the gym floor, just about 2 feet away from the bench where I was doing the bench press. He then adjust his posture, with his right hand still on his waist, in a way that I though was very masculine and sexy as the same time. It was the first time that I've noticed a guy standing that way.
A few days later, I've tried to pose the same pose that he did and I did see it was kind of masculine/sexy by standing in that position.
