Oh, I saw a Christmas penguin at the store the other day. Kinda strange, since all species of penguin are indigenous to the southern hemisphere. (Some are as far north as New Zealand and the Galapagos.)

I was watching Soupy Sales' old TV show around Christmas of 1958 when he picked up a telephone receiver and attempted to call Santa Claus for the kids:

*dialing*

Ring! Ring!

Other end: "HO HO HO, Y'ALL!"

*slam!* Soupy hangs up the phone hurridly, saying,

"Oops! Wrong pole!"
