Okay, I haven't posted a sex question in a long time, but recently I've met several guys who had what seemed like eternal erections. Now, I'm not complaining, mind you, but it does seem odd. I was wondering if any members here on the board are like this. They get very hard easily, stay hard for as long as I want sex, then when they want to get off, the have to jack off really hard.

Now, none of this is a problem, quite the opposite, I was just wondering how many guys are like that consistantly?

At age 50 I don't get hard as easily as I used to, but do so pretty easily. I can usually get an erection in a minute or less, and it rarely takes more than 90 seconds. Keeping hard for however long I want is no chore either, except when I'm wearing a condom. I need more stimulation these days to keep me up.

I'm taking Wellbutrin, and one of its side effects is delayed ejaculation. I used to take Paxil, and it was awful. When I was on it I would get these ridiculous, scratch-my-name-in-a-plate-glass-window erections that would last for hours. Sex with these things was wonderful for her, but I could only cum by jacking off very hard. Sometimes I would tear the skin on my cock and wind up bleeding. Not good. Wellbutrin is a much better drug. I can usually cum after 20-30 minutes.


I never had trouble lasting before I took SSRIs, and about two thirds of the time didn't lose my erection after ejaculating. This is still true. These drugs can be a boon or a bane, depending on how you look at them.

I'll be 47 in just a couple of days, and do not take any meds regularly. I still get erections the same as when I was in my teens - limp to rock-hard in 30 seconds or less, and how long they last is variable. For me, it seems that the more extended the foreplay, the longer it takes for me to cum... and the longer I keep an erection after cumming. If it's just a quickie, little foreplay, just getting down to business, I usually cum in 10 or 15 minutes, and lose the erection soon after. Other times, I can fuck pretty much as long as we want me to, and stay hard for 20 minutes or so after.

Also, the amount of time it takes for me to cum usually depends on the position. Possibly the more (non-sexual) muscles I have to use, the more it distracts my brain or something like that - standing or missionary, where I have to support my weight and keep my balance, it takes forever. If I'm sitting or lying on my back, it is quicker.

It could be the anti depressants since it is part of the culture nowadays. I remember I was on them (for anxiety, not depression) for maybe two to four weeks. I could get rock hard, scarily hard even and I thought my cock was going to explode. But I couldn't cum so there wasn't much point to it.

I can sometimes do that, but I have figured out it is very mental for me. In almost opposite situations I can do that without any real effort on my part. The first is if I am extremely aroused by a woman and the passion is thrilling, I can often last what seems like an eternity and when I do cum it is with extreme force and amount even for me. In those instances I often remain erect, or do not go fully soft but half or three quarters erect and regain a full straining erection within just a minute or two at most. The womans appeal does that to me if I am very excited by her. In the opposite situation, when I have found myself with someone who did not appeal to me on some level, and I was just having "sex" with limited or no emotional involvement, I can get it up very hard, but it is more a "performance" on my part and I stay hard but do not orgasm easily. Most of those times I have had to eventually just get myself off after my partner could not do more by masturbation, thinking of someone else. Unfortunate but true. My erections in both situations are similar, but my orgasm is not. Another clue, at least regarding me that a partner can tell is "it's in his kiss". I may extert myself to give my partner the sex of her life, but my kiss will tell the tale of how much I am in to a lady. At least for me, the line in the song "its in his kiss" has it right.
