Just some mild fanboying over Troye’s new EP... otherwise he’s been stepping up his TikTok game and trying hard to woo a sponsor. There’s a sexy young Team USA diver that will be training with Steele at Purdue this year named Jordan Rzepka, so Steele will have his hands full no doubt...

Looks like the reason Steele was in LA was to participate in a fashion campaign from Thom Browne... some strange high concept theme of lunar Olympic Games in the future, where I guess society/fashion is post-gender?

This Jordan is cute, but I hope he will not get married like Steele at very young age. I never understood why so many diver tend to have a wife in their 20s instead of just enjoy their life.
Btw I will not be surprised to see Steele become dad in a near future. At the moment, he doesn't earn enough money to support his wife, so wait and see...
Jordan does not seem the type... it’s looking like the next wave of divers are going to be more open minded like others in the Gen Z/ TikTok age group—at least based on Jordan’s friends and diving peers, several of whom are openly gay. It will be refreshing to see if the mid-west/ Bible Belt diving culture has less of a pray the gay away type of atmosphere. For one USA Diving seems to be embracing diversity and Pride more so than ever which is great to see and maybe some young divers won’t feel ashamed about diving being “a gay sport”.
As far as Steele, thank god he hasn’t had a kid and at least he’s prudent enough to know financially he’s not ready... I suspect if he nabs a big sponsor then he would, it would be a perfect narrative going into an Olympic year.

It's sad that a sport that's mostly filled with gay men( one young diver told me he estimates 65%) is so homophobic.

It’s not so much the sport is outright homophobic, I think the diving community in of itself is pretty welcoming (they kinda have to be), but it’s the regional influencers—a lot of the top tier diving clubs, training centers, colleges are in places like Indiana and a lot of these guys end up moving at a young age sometimes to these places to be close to the elite clubs and training centers, so it’s a bit of indoctrination. Steele had a head start, he was born into a fundamentalist Christian family, so that brain washing grew deep roots.
Plus, there’s a (outdated) mentality too that in order to get sponsors (remember only top tier divers get paid as professional athletes and even then it’s minimum wage-esque) you have to be wholesome and have a story that sells and nothing sells better for the Olympics than overcoming tragedy and family. That’s has a lot to do I’m sure why Steele went after his wife out of the blue in an Olympic year because he was trying to court sponsors.

Gay sport doesn't really exist. I mean many people think that diving and wrestling are gay sport, but in reality, it's just that gay/bi men love diving because they see boys almost naked with only a speedo, same thing with wrestling, we can see their bulge, but actually in those sports most atheltes are straight, even if the audience is full of gays.
Jordan Rzepkaj just turned 2 months ago 18, so he is still young. With his face and body he is able to date any girls...
Ah, bummer for him... he’s fractured his foot again and needs surgery. Sad he’s got to plea for support.

It's mainly USA diving.
A lot of the conservatism in US Diving is a result of the Dumas family and their influence for decades.
