I feel guilty. Today I was in a conveniance store ordering some food. There was an *extremely* flamboiant gay guy also waiting for his food. After he picked up his food and left, the guys behind the counter started making fun of him. Calling him a fag and "giving him his weiner" <he ordered a hotdog>.

I was already in a very pissy mood, but I was also so exhausted I probably should not have been behind the wheel <picking up a mountain dew and a sub>.

I guess I appear fairly straight and I was dirty and dressed in construction clothes today so I guess thats why they felt it was ok to gay bash in front of me.

I really feel like I should have said something to the two tools behind the counter and it's been eating me all day.

What would you have said to them?

Well, 1) I don't know quite what I would have said to them, but I would probably stood them up. 2) Those two men where both rude, inconsiderate, and insecure in their own masculenity. It makes them feel better about themselves, so they cane make themselves feel more manly.

True, it probably would have been good if you would have said something , but a) that man will never know about it (unless he reads this, then he's probably hung anyway, so he's already a step ahead of those men), and although you did say something, then they likely would have made fun of you too... I wouldn't worry about it.

I would have told them to grow up and find someone else to pick on. Then I would have stood there with a pissed off look in my face until they got the hint.

I find that a bully just needs someone who is willing to stand their ground, and they back off. (provided there is only one).

Either way, be Firm, and they will back down. I wouldn't have called him a name, it is just gonna make them retort.

    Don't feed the bullshit Fire.

I just thought I should have crushed their little notions of what a gay guy is. There I am lookin fairly mean, unshaven, covered in plaster and wood dust and just pulled up in a big freakin truck.

I'm getting more pissed at myself for not saying something: "Be careful calling people a fag, you never know when we might hear"

This was a fairly small guy who had the mouth.

Yah,wherever the old factory was in Ontario, Near Barrie.
They had immigrants, and something to the extent of 20,000 plants growing. I am not good at facts, but it happened I swear.

Okay...I know... it sounds vaguely familiar.

And Barrie is closer to you than to me.

"Why are you guys all worried about gays?"

I never miss a chance like this. It's like hearing someone in an elevator say something racist, and answering them by saying, "You probably said that because you think I am white."

I'm actually pink, but damn those things piss me off. I think you asked the question because you realize getting pissed in these situations is a gift. Get ready for the next one, and do not leave without a slam back. If they think you are straight, even better. Straight guys can be pussies about justice when these things happen--just like white guys can be pussies when racist crap happens. If you don't stand up when that happens, you tend not to feel much like a man afterwards.

I have always felt that if you regret what you did (or didn't do) you should have done otherwise. In reality, you are the one who has to live with yourself in the end. You should not feel so bad about it. I have been caught off guard in situations myself. All you can do is prepare for the next time. Next time something happens, take a stand. You will redeem yourself then.
