Moderators? What purpose does it serve added to this thread?

Considering my reputation around here, I rarely make it a point to report anyone to the mods. I've made reference to similar things like this, if not to other selective names made to me that were much worse, in my blog. At the same time, I would expect something that has been going on for months and pointed out to the offender by several other people besides myself to be noticed by authority and dealt with.

But considering that I didn't want it to get to that point and jeopardize someone's membership on the board (including people I do not get along with) I guess that I have no choice then.

So much focus on the "politically correct" angle. But I stand by the point that a distraction is a distraction, and often intolerably so.

So?

Nowhere are you guaranteed any right to live your life without experiencing distractions caused by people who disagree with you...and the notion of having the government remove someone from their job because you were distracted by some viewpoint of theirs is beyond ludicrous.

IMO, people need to
grow some thicker skin and quit playing the fucking victim role all the time...and our society needs to stop mollycoddling the titty-babies who do it.

Everyone's tolerance towards certain issues will differ. Even people with the thickest of skins will eventually get sick of the nonsense and let loose once in a while. That's not a sign of playing the victim at all, especially if everyone can agree that what is going on is inherently wrong.

I'm sure you heard of the phrase, "the straw that broke the camel's back"... me thinks it would apply here.

I'm not playing the "victim role" here. Hell, when the Westboro Baptist Church came to a high school a mile from where I live, I couldn't have cared less. I wasn't one of the counter protesters. When I was called "faggot" after a Padres game recently (by San Francisco Giants fans, ironically) instead of calling him names back, I blew kisses and asked him if he wanted to come over. Hardly playing a victim. I just couldn't care less about a guy getting kicked off a (presumably unpaid) government committee. Nothing is stopping him from continuing to contribute.

The distraction of which I spoke does not pertain to me, but rather to the team, the problem-solvers. If this doctor is a distraction to their focus on problem-solving, why the uproar over letting him go?

And just who is playing the victim in this situation? It seems that depending on one's perspective "the victim" is variable. Some people's responses seem to indicate they view the doctor as being victimized.

Isn't this the *exact* point of the US Senate on the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell"?

Someone doing their job and then because *someone* else is distracted, they lose their job? Except, I would contend, the DADT is far worse.

I hope you are calling your Senator and explaining how ludicrous this policy has been and urging its repeal.
