Has the following happened to you?

Last week I received yet another phone call from "Microsoft", threatening me to pay them or else. The woman starts the call, identifying herself as "Audrey Baxter". Her Indian accent was so strong that I can smell curry through the phone.

Just as her tone of voice started to become aggressive, I cut her off, and, told her, "I was just about to have a thunderous orgasm during sex, when you called, and, ruined it.... you C**T!" For some reason, she hung up.

Issue solved.

You should ask her what she's wearing. I'm going to start doing that with Republican pollsters.

Those annoying callers are your opportunity to be as vulgar as you like on the phone. You can also ask them if they fantasize about seeing the president naked.

Be careful not to say anything that, recorded, could be changed from context and modified to cause you trouble.

The easiest and the least risky thing to do is to just hang up.

I bundle my phone, internet, and cable TV and there is an option to block out robo calls and numbers that aren't associated with a name. Of course, the call centers now 'hijack' numbers and make the call show up as a person in your area code and with the same exchange to try and fool you. I have even seen a call coming through from myself with my name on it. WTF!!

I will speak Spanish sometimes when they call and they hang up. Other times, I put on a very hill-billy accent and pretend to go along with them but they catch on and cuss me out before they hang up. As @neutrno states, you really don't want to say anything that would be construed as a threat.... that could end up badly. Have fun with them though and see how long the call lasts before they cut you off.

ln my case I have spoken German to cold callers until they hung up. Another suggestion: once verifying the call as unsolicited ,or a robo call, I abruptly left the phone off the hook and attended to something else - the other party always hung up. When I last had an unsolicited call I stated "This is Pyms Travel Agency. How can I help you today?" The other party hung up immediately and I had a good laugh.
